Dovepaw's Warrior Ceremony

Nettlestar stood atop the Highrock, cold green eyes surveying the camp, filled with both her clanmates and their unwanted guests. With every passing day, her desire to see her clan free once more grew and grew-- because with each passing day, their current situation felt more and more normal, and she couldn't stand that. Even conducting warrior ceremonies under the silent gaze of the Asylum no longer felt fully strange.

With that thought, she opened her mouth to make the call.

"Cats of ThunderClan! Gather beneath the Highrock for a meeting!"

Dovepaw heard the call of his leader, carefully he moved out of the cover of the apprentice den, eyeing the asylum cats, before joining his clan that was slowly gathering below the Highrick. He hopes it was his warrior ceremony because it had been a while coming but he could wait longer if needed. Green eyes at Nettlestar waiting on what she was going to say next.

Nettlestar watched Dovepaw join the rest of his clanmates. Her green eyes met his as he took a spot among the crowd.  

"Dovepaw," she said, calling out to him. "Take a step forward,"

After he had done so, she continued.

"I, Nettlestar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Dovepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

At the call of his name Dovepaw stepped forward. A spark of hope settling in his chest. This was his ceremony. Oh stars, he was thankful. Even if he could have waited it would be nice to go out without another warrior even with the asylum cats. Dovepaw seated himself at the front of the crowd, listening as Nettlestar spoke. "I do." The white fluffy tom spoke. He would follow the code. Despite the asylum being in their presence.

Nettlestar nodded, a light smile on her face. Now more than ever she was happy to be welcoming a new warrior. Someday they'd find a way to send the Asylum away...and she was sure they'd need strength and numbers to do it.

"Then, by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Dovepaw, from this moment on you will be known as Dovefrost. StarClan honors your cool head and confidence, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan,"

Dovefrost. Oh it suited him well. Dovefrost nodded in response to Nettlestar's words. He appreciated his leader's compliments. The white fluffy warrior's eyes turned to the asylum cats as they watched. What did they think? What was going to happen next?
