Batpaw's Warrior Ceremony

This had been a long time coming. As Flintstar jumped onto the jagged rock, he couldn't help but feel some guilt prickle beneath his pelt for this taking so long. But things had been a whirlwind, so many thoughts and feelings rushing through his head - he hadn't wanted to make sure he had been in the right place to perform this ceremony - it was going to mean much...Not just for him and Batpaw, but for Mothglow as well. He was certain his sister would be looking down on this ceremony, even in the questionable times under Asylum's rule. "ShadowClan! Gather in the shadow of the Jaggedrock."

Batpaw didn't know how to feel about these other cats in the camp with them, but at the same time they were rogues like he used to be right? At Flintstar's call, he shook the thought of the other rogues from his mind and headed towards the Jagged rock. Once he was settled in his spot, yellow green eyes looked up at his leader.

"I've called you all here to witness an apprentice reach the rank of warrior. Batpaw, please step forward," he meowed, ushering the young tom to the front of the crowd. It had been a long time coming and in truth, the leader felt a little...Bad about waiting this long. Oh how he wished it didn't have to be done with these Asylum cats - he knew he had made the only choice he could, but he didn't fully trust them even if they were playing nice. "I, Flintstar, leader of ShadowClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Batpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

At the call of his name and the command to come forward the black lanky tom stepped forward. Unsure how to feel with all eyes on him. Part of him relished on the feeling. Finally it was his time to shine. Another part wanted to shrink back. Mothglow should have been here to see this.. Despite the conflicting feelings, Batpaw held himself high. His eyes slightly narrowed to make sure he showed himself as a true warrior of Shadowclan despite his origins. He remained still as Flintstar spoke, his thin ta curled around his paws, and when it came time for him to speak he did so without hesitation. "Of course." For Mothglow.

"Then by the power given to me, I give you your warrior name. Batpaw, from this moment on you will be known as Batglow." The leader let the name hang in the air for a few heartbeats, to let the newly named warrior soak it in. Mothglow had meant much to the both of them - she had been their guiding light. But while she was gone, she would not be forgotten. Her memory would be a star to guide them. And Batglow's name would be a symbol of that. "We honor your tenacity and hope, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ShadowClan." With that, he jumped down and approached the tom, his expression soft as he rested his chin on Batglow's head. "She is proud of you, I am sure of it. She is watching us from the stars."

Batglow.. Oh.. Oh it was wonderful. He was named after her. He couldn't ask for anything better. He relished in the name even after the moment had passed and he was sure everyone appreciated the name as well. Batglow murmured a soft "Thank you.." as Flintstar finished up the last of the ceremony. What did Asylum think of this?
