PostSome (Minor) Additions!

Hi everyone! Mosspelt here again with some minor updates to the battle system and development topics!

First, we have finally settled on a Retreat function! This move is called Disengage and will be available to any Apprentice or Tiered Warrior. The SP cost will look a little bit different - we were having difficulty settling on a SP cost that felt fair and even. After a lot of discussion, we have decided that this move will have an SP cost equaling the character's remaining SP. The cat should not be returning to battle after retreating anyway, so we thought this was a fair cost. So if you have an apprentice with 10 SP remaining, using the Disengage will use the 10 SP leaving the character with 0 SP. If you were to have a Tier 5 warrior with 230 SP, however, it would cost 230 SP to Disengage. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out! We are open to feedback and happy to help answer any questions you may have.

Secondly, we've added a few new development topics to the list of potential ones! Our Ranking System Rules have them listed now, but the additions are:

  1. Attend a ceremony that is not your own.
  2. Battle a predator native to your clan's territory.
  3. Telling a story to another cat.

Forgot a little bit! Sorry everyone!

The third point is an adjustment to the "Train an apprentice" requirement to reach tier 5. While it will stay the same in regards to it being able to happen in any tier, instead of the apprentice needing to reach warriorhood you simply must participate and lead in a battle and a hunting patrol with one of them. These can be done with the same apprentice, or across two apprentices, so long as you also use the hunting and/or battle system in the topic(s). This will hopefully help with the void of being unlucky with apprentices!

Please take a look and let us know what you guys think, and as always if you have any questions or feedback please let us know! We've got some other, larger things in the works, so be on the lookout for them to go live!

Thank you  In Love Hamu

I like the new development topic options, and I especially like the change of apprentices not having to rank up specifically. All good changes in my opinion :)

ooh new development options 👀 plus disengage sounds cool, too!

i do have one question - for the "train an apprentice" req, do the battle and hunting patrol have to be separate topics, or could they happen in the same topic?
edit: sweet, thank you! Regular

They could happen in the same topic, certainly!

All of these sound great! I really like the apprentice adjustments, as some people keep their cats apprentices for a long time/kill them off, so it’s really helpful from the mentoring end!
