leaving the nest [closed]

Cedarheart rose up in the warrior’s den as the first rays of sunlight hit her. Yesterday, she had promised Quailpaw this training, and now it would be happening. She walked out into the camp, looking at the beautiful sky. The only noise was the quite sound of the bird, and the morning patrol would be starting soon. She walked into the apprentice den. It seemed smaller to her, but also, less crowded. She nudged Quailpaw with a grin, and stepped out of the den, into the clearing, awaiting his joining her.

”Good morning, Quailpaw. Today, I’ll be showing you around the territories.” She explained with a twinkle in her eye. It was exciting, getting ready to go. And she was sure that this would be a good first step into his training. She would teach him to hunt soon after, and battle training would have to come as well. ”Whenever you are ready, we can leave!” she mewed happily.

Quailpaw layed in his nest, sleeping. While he wished his siblings were apprentices with him it was kind of nice to be sleeping alone. Quailpaw rose his head sleepily when he heard his mentor. "Ok." Yawned Quailpaw, getting up onto his paws tiredly. He walked out of the apprentices den and streched letting out another yawn before turning to Cedarheart. "So a tour of the territories?" Asked Quailpaw.

Cedarheart nodded with a grin, walking, making sure the smaller tom was behind her every so often. She took a route right into the Stony Hollow, where lots of apprentices trained. She stopped, letting his catch up. ”This is the Stony Hollow. It’s basically a training area. We might have battle training here sometime.” she explained, letting Quailpaw look around a bit. ”Alright, so if you have any questions feel fee to ask, or else’s we are gonna move on!” she had decided on a plan where she wouldn’t have to do much walking, as she didn’t want to tire him out before the actual lessons started.

Quailpaw followed his mentor, taking in all the scents and sights. When they stopped Quailpaw sat down taking in the Stony Hollow. "Will we get to train with other apprentices?" Asked Quailpaw. He really wanted to train with some other cats and possibly make new friends.

Cedarheart smiled as he asked a question. That meant he was interested, which was good. ”Sure! I can try to set something up, maybe you and another apprentice can spar or something. Great idea!” And it was. It would be a great way to let them learn, and have fun with it.

She started to walk off, to show him the Owl Tree, then Fourtrees. She scented the area first, making sure there wasn’t an owl around. ”This is the Owl Tree. Here are lots of owls, so be careful.” she said, than strode last it. ”This is Fourtrees. We have gatherings here where all the clans gather to talk.” Quailpaw wouldn’t have to experience the way gatherings and been for the last few moons, as that was gone. He would get to enjoy them like they had been before. The warrior was a bit jealous of him, honestly.

Quailpaw followed his mentor past the owl tree and towards Fourtrees. "How hostile are the other clans?" Asked Quailpaw, the faint smells of so many different cats overwhelming him.

Cedarheart had to think a bit about that. It was hard to think past the gatherings of the more event moons. Everyone had been banded together again the Righteous Few. ”Well, if you wander 9 to their territory, most of the clans won’t be too happy. But at the Gatherings, there is a truce. Everyone is pretty nice, most of the time.” She explained.

The next place she went was the border of their and Riverclan’s territory, right before the Sunning Rocks. ”This marks the edge of our territory. Those rocks belong to Riverclan, and so does everything last that river.” She made sure that her and Quailpaw were safely on Thunderclan land. She didn’t want to have the apprentice get attacked by some hostile Riverclanner.

Quailpaw looked excitedly at Sunningrocks. "Can we go over to the rocks?" Asked Quailpaw padded in towards them.

Cedarheart’s eyes widened as he approached. She could scent a Riverclan patrol nearby. ”Uhh, no, we can’t.” she said, pulling the apprentice back. [color=#ffcc00]”That’s Riverclan territory.

She led him through the forest, until they reached the Skyclan border. ”This is the border between us and Skyclan.” she explained.

Quailpaw was taken a back. If the stones were on their side of the river why did Riverclan have to have them? Why not Thunderclan. "But aren't those rocks on our side?" Asked Quailpaw as he followed Cedarheart towards the Skyclan border.

Cedarheart knew the way the territories were divided could be confusing. ”I really don’t know. I think we fought over them, and they made it the border. But there’s nothing like that at the Skyclan border, over here.” she pointed with her tail. ”You could smell that fishy scent over by Riverclan. Those were the cats that lived there. Can you smell Skyclan here?” she asked Quailpaw.

Quailpaw sniffed at the Skyclan border even though his mind was still on Riverclan. "Yea I guess. Smells like a mix of oak trees and pine trees."

Cedarheart smiled. ”Nice! You’ve got a good nose.” she mewed. It would be helpful when he started hunting, for sure. They walked for a little while longer, towards the Thunderpath. She wanted to show him from a Ade distance, so he would be aware.

When they reached it, the first thing she noticed was the foul smell of monsters and twolegs. She wrinkled her nose. ”This is the Thunderpath. It’s where the monsters roam. Never, ever, pass it. But on the other side is Shadowclan” she explained, and a car roared by right after. She watched it.

Quailpaw followed his mentor the Thunderpath, sticking his tounge out in disgust. "It smells weird." He said, wrinkling his muzzle.

Cedarheart nodded. ”The Twolegs control them, and they leave some weird...stuff.” she explained, gesturing to the air being polluted by the cars. It was strange, the way they transported. She often wished that they didn’t inhaled the forest with their monsters. At least they only lived in Twolegplace.”Alright, unless there is anything else you wanna see, we can head back now.” she mewed, turning to face him.
