Curious Kits (Open)

As Flamekit dug into her squirrel, she flicked her ear, thinking. She curled her tail tightly around her side as the memories started flashing back in bits- but she pushed them away and felt a little less tense.I live in ThunderClan. They will protect me. I won't get eaten by a fox. I am Flamekit, and I will survive.

Burningkit looked around the camp, noticing cats walking to and fro. Eventually, her eyes drifted to Flamekit as she ate her squirrel. It seemed like something was on the ginger cat's mind. "Is everything alright?" She asked gently.

Flamekit continued staring at nothing for a moment before she dragged her gaze over to Burningkit. She felt her anxiety drift away as she gazed at her concerned friend. "It's nothing." She mewed. "Thanks for asking, though." She scooted closer and rubbed her face against Burningkit's, purring. Flamekit's purr suddenly got caught in her throat and she began choking, blood seeping from her nose. She staggered to her paws and let out a gurgled screech.

(Yep just saw it! RIP Flamekit :(...)

Burningkit was still worried about her new friend, but she wasn't going to press her and make her feel uncomfortable. She was trying to decide what to do when suddenly blood started coming out of Flamekit's nose! Burningkit stared in horror as Flamekit screeched. Oh StarClan! What do I do?

"Flamekit! What's going on? Are you okay?" She yowled, and then immediately felt stupid for asking. There's got to be something I can do. Should I run for the medicine cat? Or should I stay with Flamekit?

Flamekit felt the world spiral around her, and she choked even more on the blood and bile rising in her throat. The ginger kit felt bodies press around her, and she realized it was time for her to stop struggling.

Letting her legs buckle beneath her, she sunk to the ground- ready to give up. She had tried hard enough not to die, but she figured her life was now in the paws of the medicine cats.

Burningkit was so shocked she felt rooted to the ground. Flamekit was no longer moving, and Burningkit somehow knew she never would again. Blood rushed out of the ginger kit's mouth, and Burningkit wanted to back away but she couldn't get her paws to move. All she could do was close her eyes and try not to fall over as the world spun around her.

Is this my fault? Maybe Flamekit knew this was coming all day and that's why she seemed off. Was she hiding it so she could play with me? Maybe I should've pressed her more about what was bothering her. Maybe I could've gotten her to the medicine cat den and this could've been prevented. I should've run to get Mossbloom or Daisybloom. Maybe they could've done something if I hadn't just stood here like a lump!

The thoughts swirled around in Burningkit's head like angry bees, flying faster and faster and getting angrier every second. She felt as if she couldn't get enough air. Maybe she was dying too; it felt like it. Her chest hurt and she couldn't feel her paws. She fell to the ground, gasping for air. She wanted to yowl, but there wasn't enough air in her lungs.

(Last night I had a D.W.M- Devastating Warriors Meltdown- and thought about Flamepaw(kit) all night. SHE MUST LIVEEEEEE!)

All Flamekit could remember was bodies pressing around her and the tangy scent of herbs before she fell unconscious once more.

Burningkit's vision was blurry, and she still felt tingly and out of breath. She looked over at Flamekit again, and it almost seemed like she was moving. I must be imagining it. There was so much blood.

Still, she wanted to know for sure. She struggled to stand up and almost fell right over again. The world was still spinning a little, and she felt like everything could collapse at any moment. She dragged herself closer to Flamekit, and realized the other kit was definitely alive.

"Flamekit?" She meowed hesitantly. "What happened? I was so scared!"

Burningkit was still in shock. It seemed like Flamekit was alright, but there was still a few specks on drying blood on her front. Burningkit wanted to answer and say that she was glad Flamekit was ok, because she was glad about that. But she couldn't make herself speak. She stared at Flamekit with wide eyes and let out a half-squeak that was supposed to be a word.

Ignore this as well. Moving to the medicine cats' den))

Burningkit felt bad that she seemed to have offended Flamekit. She hadn't meant to offend her, she just didn't know how to react to what had happened. The feeling was slowly coming back to her paws and she thought she could probably follow Flamekit if she wanted to, but she couldn't decide if that was a good idea. Should I apologize or stay here? She rocked back and forth on her paws, trying to decide.

Burningkit watched as Flamekit lay down next to the camp wall. She felt guilty for upsetting her. She'd just been so scared. Burningkit eventually found the strength to move and returned to the nursery, where she curled up and slept fitfully for a while.

After waking up suddenly for the fifth time, she sat up a little and looked around. Flamekit wasn't in the nursery, she noticed, and jumped upright immediately. Is she ok? Did she get sick again?

Fur spiked with fear, she padded out of the nursery and looked around. Flamekit was still in the same spot, staring into the distance. This time, Burningkit padded over to her and laid down next to her, keeping a respectful distance in case she was uncomfortable.

"I'm sorry," she meowed gently. "I was just scared."
