Heatherkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Another day, another ceremony! Olivestone certainly wasn't complaining, though. The more apprentices she named, the more warriors that could serve WindClan. Those thoughts were all she was thinking about, her decision for Heatherkit's mentor chosen a little while ago, as she traced the familiar route to the summit of the Tallrock. Once she stood at it's peak, she took a moment to survey the camp below, letting the wind to blow through her fur before she called out the familiar words.
"Let all cats old enough to run the moor gather beneath the Tallrock!"

Heatherkit padded out of the nursery, stretching her muzzle towards the sun. Her ear twitched as the deputy, Olivestone called for a clan meeting. Interested, she padded towards the Tallrock, waiting for Olivestone to say something again.

As the Clan gathered below the Tallrock at her summons, Olivestone smiled as she saw Heatherkit join in the growing crowd. When she was satisfied with the size of the crowd below, she continued with the ceremony.
"Heatherkit, step forward."

When the kit in question had done so, she continued speaking.
"Heatherkit, you have reached your sixth moon, and it is time for you to become apprenticed. From this day forward, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Heatherpaw. Smallbean will be your mentor, and may he pass everything he knows on to you."

With a smile, she finished the ceremony with the traditional chant.
"Heatherpaw! Heatherpaw! Heatherpaw!"

Heatherpaw grinned excitedly. Searching the crowd for her mentor, her golden-brown eyes lit up as she spotted the tom. Stepping forward, she touched noses with him, whispering. “I won’t let you down. I promise.” Dipping her head, she stepped back and smiled at her new mentor, Smallbean.

Smallbean practically jumped when he though he heard his name called. Did he hear Olivestone correctly? Him? It must be him, because she looked at him when she said it. Startled, he slowly stood up and saw the she-cat approaching him. Was he ready to become a mentor? What if he wasn't good enough and Heatherpaw never became a warrior? What if something bad happened to her while she was under his surveillance? He took a deep breath a dipped his head in return. "If anything, i should be telling you that. I'll do my best."
