A tale of a Early Morning dove (open)

Spotlake sat in a shaded spot of camp, licking her fur. It was a really hot day so most of the clan were staying in the few haded areas of the camp. The few who weren't in the shade were out hunting or had thin enough fur to stay out in the blistering sun.

Spotlake scanned her head around camp when she saw some kits and apprentices. "Hey, do you wanna hear a story?" Spotlake called towards them. She knew some of them weren't alive during the battle against the righteous few so it would be best to tell them about it. To tell them about her brave little kit, Morningdove.

"A story?" A lithe apprentice made her way over to Spotlake hearing the mention of a long tale. Her father and mother were warriors who never got the chance to tell her much. They didn't get the chance to tell her anything before they left. Left was a nicer way to put it when the truth stung albeit numbly now that it almost happened again. Yet here she was scrambling to hear the scoop on the what when and how of some kind of promised story. Nursery tales always made her clamber to get the best spot - stories took forever to tell in their entirety plot twists and all. "Ooooh, please tell me the story!" The apprentice was fairly new herself but even hearing a retelling of an old tale would comfort her in these dark times.
