fidelity [snow's tiny development plot]

because now that the sitewide is over, a friend and some fairly low-stakes personal drama is just what this boy needs!

Part 1: complete
Snowflight is wandering alone near RiverClan’s borders when he runs into a predator. [Cat A], on their own Clan’s side of the border, sees he’s clearly in over his head and crosses onto RiverClan territory to help. The battle’s tide turns, and together, they and Snowflight chase off/kill the predator. Too injured to start another fight (and unwilling to attack the cat who just helped him), a flustered Snowflight asks [Cat A] to leave; [Cat A] does so without much argument

Part 2: complete
Snowflight, having realized he maybe could’ve been less short with [Cat A] about the whole trespassing-to-help thing, tries to find them at the soonest Gathering after Part 1. They meet near the edge of Fourtrees, and he gives [Cat A] an apology and a long overdue thank-you, which leads to them sitting together. To Snowflight’s surprise, they get along well outside of battle - so well that he’s reluctant to leave when Ivystar starts to lead RiverClan home. He and [Cat A] part ways as friends, or something close to friends, potentially with a promise to talk again somewhere quieter

Part 3:
Near the border, Snowflight and [Cat A] meet yet again, this time on purpose. (As proof of this, Snowflight might show up with a trinket of some sort - most likely a flower, feather, pebble, etc. from his nest.) During their conversation, Snowflight, utterly at ease in his friend’s company, steps over the border without thinking. When StarClan doesn’t immediately strike him down, he relaxes for what feels like the first time in moons. He and [Cat A] hang out for a short while longer until one of them hears a patrol approaching; then they return to their respective Clans (and Snowflight, against his better judgment, refuses to question his life choices)

Part 4: complete
At some point during this, Snowflight goes head over paws for [Cat A]. It is Very Obvious. Now he realizes he’s gone head over paws, and worry sets in - worry about StarClan’s wrath, what his friends and family would think, what [Cat A] themselves would think if they knew, and so on. For the first time in his life, he gets quiet - noticeably quiet. Rather than risk facing [Cat A] without some sort of plan, he spends more and more time in RiverClan’s camp (to the point of skipping the upcoming Gathering, if there is one)

Part 5: in progress
This can start one of two ways: either Snowflight comes to [Cat B] for advice OR [Cat B], having noticed his strange behavior, approaches him about it. In either case, Snowflight spills the beans pretty quickly. [Cat B] advises him to Follow His Heart or (more likely) Follow The Rules. Snowflight’s exact response depends on what, exactly, [Cat B] tells him (though he'll most likely settle on following the code in the end); what matters is that [Cat B]’s words push him to realize anything’s better than pacing around camp forever

Part 6:
With the world’s vaguest plan in mind, Snowflight meets with [Cat A] and tries to explain himself - though if [Cat A]’s noticed his absence, they can also confront him first. In the end, though Snowflight confesses, the two of them do not start a relationship (due to conflicting Clan loyalties, StarClan being StarClan, [Cat A] not returning Snowflight’s feelings, and/or any other applicable reasons). Whether they manage to maintain their friendship or go their separate ways for good depends on how things play out ICly. Either way, Snowflight matures a little, starts to view cross-Clan interactions in a different light, and potentially seals his resolve to follow the warrior code no matter what it costs him

this is the general outline, but some parts can be changed as needed! the only elements that are set in stone are:
- [Cat A] helps Snow fight off a predator; Snow (eventually) thanks them; they become friends
- Snow catches feelings and has a minor crisis about it; [Cat B] gives him advice
- Snow and [Cat A] discuss said feelings; for whatever reason(s), no romantic relationship results

- Cat A [Beecloud, played by Grizzly]: Snowflight’s friend and eventual crush.
- Cat B [Streamtail, played by Windwillow]: One of Snowflight’s trusted friends/family members.

she’s going to become a warrior soon if that’s alright ^^ and she wouldn’t break the code but would want someone to talk to outside of WC so I think she’s a decent candidate :)

Bee is one paradox away from receiving his warrior name. If you'd like him for Cat A, here he is! His reasons for denying Snowflight's advances will be his love for a clanmate, Robinloft, and his devotion to ThunderClan. It would be a good way to solidify his feelings about who he wants to be with and where he wants to be. <33

I could offer Foxspirit of WindClan for a possible cat A! She is totally the type of cat to help out a foreign Clan's cat, and is not looking to ever have another mate. She would only ever see him as a friend, but would be very kind about it.

Applefang could work for Cat B !

Streamtail could work for cat B, or another minor character.

now that i've sort of returned, i'm kicking this plot back into action - but since Applefang is dead, his role is open again. so, if you think your cat would work for Cat B, just post here saying so, and i'll put them down as a potential candidate! i'll make a final decision in a week or so (around September 16th)
