Frostkit's Apprentice Ceremony

“Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath Highrock for a clan meeting!”

Nettlefire called out, standing atop the Highrock. After having done a string of warrior ceremonies, it was almost strange to be back here for her "normal" job.

She watched the typical gaggle of warriors, apprentices, and kits gather together, keeping an eye out for Frostkit.

Frostkit padded out of the nursery. She knew what today was. She dreaded it, yet she was excited about it too. Frostkit sat down beneath the Highrock, staring up at the deputy, waiting for her to continue.

Nettlefire saw Frostkit join the crowd, and began the ceremony.

"Frostkit, please step forward," she began, "Frostkit, as you have reached the age of six moons, you are now ready to become an apprentice. From this day forward, until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Frostpaw. Your mentor will be Robinloft. She is a young warrior. But she was my apprentice, and she learned well, and I am sure she will be able to teach well, too."

Nettlefire looked for Robinloft in the crowd, and gave her former apprentice a quick nod once she spotted her, leaving the new mentor and apprentice pair to greet each other.

Froskit’s eyes widened. Her mentor used to be the deputy’sapprentice? Suddenly she felt scared, but honored. With a shaky breath, she stepped onto the Highrock, preparing to meet her new mentor.

Robinloft's ears perked when she heard her name. She wasn't appointed as a warrior that long ago, and now she was getting an apprentice!'my very own apprentice! Finally!' After nodding to Nettlefire, she grinned and walked up to Frostpaw and touched noses with the young she-cat, remembering her own apprentice ceremony. "How does tomorrow at dawn sound?" she asked, her eyes meeting those of her apprentice.

Frost paw nodded excitedly. “Sounds great! I cant wait!” Frostpaw grinned at her mentor, then bounded off to the nursery. Tomorrow’s my big day.Frostpaw thought, i cant let my mentor down.
