Daisybloom's MCA Ceremony

The morning had finally come. Mossbloom had sat up far longer than she wanted to, but her excitement and nervousness simply wouldn't allow sleep to find her right away. The day before she had spoken to Daisybloom about becoming her apprentice, and it hadn't taken the newly named warrior long to readily agree. Finally sleep had found her, and she slept under the softly twinkling stars that night. She rose with the dawn, practically vibrating with anticipation. Picking up the two herb bundles she had prepared the previous afternoon, she made her way to the warrior's den. It was very different from the apprentice's den, and she picked her way carefully through them until she reached the one of her new apprentice. "Daisybloom," she called softly, nudging her gently with her nose. "It's time to get up, we need to leave soon." Picking her way carefully back through the crowded den, she took a moment to enjoy the coziness of it. It was a slightly chillier morning than the others recently, but the sunrise seemed to promise fair weather ahead.

Daisybloom got up, looking around the warrior den. It would no longer be where she slept. She looked at it, then back at Mossbloom. She was pretty nervous for the occasion. She as still worried Starclan wouldn’t accept her, because of her half-clan heritage. She stood next to the medicine cat, ready for their journey. She had just gone on her Moonstone, and now it would be yet another journey.

Mossbloom unfolded the leaf wrap carefully, greeting Daisybloom with a bright smile. "Good morning! Did you sleep well?" She mewed, motioning towards the herbs. "It wasn't long ago that we made this journey together. Makes you wish we could have done this all at the same time, doesn't it?" She purred, trying to sound light-hearted as she noted Daisybloom's nervousness. Placing her tail gently across her shoulders, Mossbloom matched her gaze with the warrior's. "Everything will be alright, don't worry. I know things are... Well, pretty strange right now... But if StarClan didn't approve of you I wouldn't have received the signs. Everything will be okay. We'll get through this together." Bending her head to lap up her herbs, she straightened as she swallowed the last of it and looked to Daisybloom. "Shall we get going? When we get back, we'll work together to make a nice, cozy nest for you, and get ourselves something to eat. Sound good?"

Daisybloom nodded. ”Good morning. Yeah, I did.” mewed the tabby quietly. She nodded. ”Yeah...” she mewed half-heartedly. As her soon-to-be mentor’s tail rested on her shoulders, some of her fears went away. The nervousness slowly faded. Daisybloom quickly swallowed the herbs, once again tasting them. She smiled. ”Sounds perfect!” A but of brightness came into her voice. It was nice to have such a nice mentor to guide her. Mossbloom was a perfect mentor for Daisybloom.

"I'm so pleased to hear it," Mossbloom purred, smiling as a hint of excitement returned to Daisybloom's voice. As they set out of camp, the medicine cat looked over to the other she-cat. "You get used to the taste, after about half a moon. Although, I will say that burdock and snakeroot still taste awful to me." She chuckled as they padded together through ThunderClan's territory, heading in the same direction they had together for Daisybloom's Moonstone, but so much was different now.

~Time Skip~

They had made good time, and now they stood outside Mothermouth, looking towards the dark interior of the tunnels that held the Moonstone. Looking to Daisybloom, Mossbloom sat before the cave and addressed her. "Daisybloom, you have just accepted your name and place as a warrior of ThunderClan. I know all of this has been rather sudden, but I want to be sure before we go in. Are you sure that this is what you want? If not, I completely understand, I was pulled from my path as a warrior to tread this one. You'll have different rules to follow, you'll never be able to take a mate or have kits, are you sure that this is a path you are content to walk? It is rewarding, to heal your clanmates and all those of the clans, regardless of the borders that hold us. Once we reahc the Moonstone, I will present you to StarClan as my choice as medicine cat apprentice, and you will speak to them to confirm that choice. If you aren't ready, or are having second thoughts, we'll return another day. So, Daisybloom, are you confident with your decision?" The medicine cat's green eyes searched Daisybloom's blue, searching for the answer in their depths.

Daisybloom laughed. The herbs did still taste disgusting to her. As she walked along, she recalled the first journey they had made, not so long ago. It did feel quite different from then. Now the young she-cat felt more whole, at peace with herself.

As they finally reached the cave, Mossbloom turned towards her. Their eyes met as the medicine cat spoke. After listenunf, she considered for a moment. Again, her heart pulled her in the direction of the medicine cat. ”Yes.” she responded, sounding the most confident she ever had. Falconwing’s advice from her Moonstone Journey echoed in her ears. Live life to the fullest. Being a medicine cat apprentice would fulfill that. She was invested in her decision. She was ready.

Mossbloom nodded, and with a flick of her tail to invite her soon to be apprentice she disappeared into the dark tunnels. It wasn't long before they reached the Moonstone, and in front of its bright glow she turned to Daisybloom, her own calico fur shining silver in the light. "Warriors of StarClan, I present to you this warrior. She has accepted the path of the medicine cat, even after her warrior training has completed. Please grant her your wisdom, guidance, and council, that she may understand your ways and heal her Clan in accordance with your will. Daisybloom, if you accept this path, and wish to walk it alongside me, press your nose to the Moonstone. StarClan will speak to you and share their will." Waiting for Daisybloom to settle herself, Mossbloom sat near her side, watching over her form. They had done it, and once the ceremony with StarClan was over they would begin her training.

Daisybloom took a deep breath, and then she approached the Moonstone and laid down, touching her nose to it. She woke up in the same place where she had encountered Falconwing not long ago. She wondered who she would meet this time. The starry pelt of a golden tom soon appeared. “Hello Daisybloom. I am Lightwtacher.” His voice was low, but gentle and kind. Daisybloom nodded respectfully. She hadn’t heard of him before, but she waited for the advice he would bring. ”Hello.” she mewed nervously.
Lightwatcher chuckled at the nervous she-cat. ”Don’t be nervous, young one.” he mewed, trying to ease her fears. The tabby nodded quietly hoping that the interaction would go well. The Starclan tom noted her quietness and nervousness. ”So, Dasiybloom, you would like to be a medicine cat apprentice?” he asked, knowing the answer. She nodded. ”Yes.” She hoped he would accept her, and not deny her the path. Lightwatcher smiled. ”I believe that this is the right choice, if you choose to follow it.”Daisybloom’s smiled lit up. Her blue eyes met his ”Really?” she asked. Lightwatcher nodded. ”Then starting now, you are Thunderclan’s new medicine cat apprentice. You will train under Mossbloom, a great and accomplished mentor. I have faith in you, Daisybloom.” he said proudly, before fading away as the new medicine cat apprentice was waking up. She stood up, and turned to Mossbloom. Her blue yes were excited and joyful, and a large smile covered her face. She was Mossbloom’s apprentice now!

For a while, Daisybloom was still next to her. Then, the first signs of stirring started, and before much longer Daisybloom was standing and looking at her. The smile across her face told her everything she needed to know, and a loud purr rumbled in her chest as she touched noses with her new apprentice in the fading light of the Moonstone. "Congratulations, Daisybloom. You are the new medicine cat apprentice of ThunderClan. Your training starts the day after tomorrow, after a journey like this we both need the chance to recover!" She purred, leading the way back out of the caverns and to the cool newleaf air. It felt as if a new beginning was starting, and the medicine cat couldn't help but wonder if maybe the tides of the situations in the clans were turning for the better. She had an apprentice of her own now!

Daisybloom felt small purr of her own escape as she touched noses with her new mentor. She followed Mossbloom back to their home, excited for her new life and the training that would soon occur. She was a bit tired, and hungry. She planned to eat when she returned to camp, and get settled in her new den.
