Breezekit’s Apprentice Ceremony

Ravenmist padded into the rock, calling out. Today was one of Shadestrike’s kits. ”Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Jaggedrock for a Clan meeting!” She flicked her tail, settling back and waiting for the Clan to gather.

Breezekit wasn't bothering to mask his emotions. It was his day, and anyone would understand how he was feeling. He stuck his tail into the air and puffed out his chest, walking to the base of the rock. He gazed up at the blind deputy. Someday I'll be where she's standing. And then, I'll be leader. He flexed his claws into the ground and forced his tail to lie flat. I have to make a good first impression on whoever my mentor is.

Shadestrike, with her head high padded over to her kit before sitting. "You are going to be the best warrior in the whole clan!" She purred, patting her kit twice with her grey paw.

Ravenmist flicked her tail. "Breezekit, step forward. You have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day forward, until you recieve your warrior name, you will be known as Breezepaw. Your mentor will be Freckleface." She trned her head towards the younger she-cat, with an encouraging smile. "I know she'll teach you well."

Breezepaw swung his head around, studying his mentor. He crossed the grass to her, with every step anxiety growing. He reached out to tap noses with her. I hope she accepts me. More than that, I hope I can actually learn something from her. “What can we do first?”
