The red briars where tulips grow (closed)

Sitting by the camp entrance, Tulipfang sat with her fluffy white and ginger tail wrapped neatly around her paws. Tonight, she would go on a hunt and waited for some-cat to join her. Luckily for them, Newleaf was just around the corner, and hopefully they would have good luck on their patrol.

Redpaw padded out of the apprentice's den and over to the waiting Tulipfang. She nodded to the other she-cat, and sat down, curling her plumy tail over her paws. She then began to clean her pelt, smoothing down the unruly clumps sticking up from her nest.

With a yawn, Briarpaw slowly padded out of the apprentice's den, smoothing her thick, fluffy fur down. Tonight seemed like the perfect opportunity to get out and practice hunting, and her eyes flickered about camp before landing on Redpaw and Tulipfang, who were seemingly waiting for a patrol to begin. Padding to their side, the large apprentice sat down and looked to Tulipfang, head tilted ever so slightly. "I hope you don't mind that I'm joining you. When do we leave?" Asked the tabby apprentice assertively.

Redpaw flicked her tail as Briarpaw joined the pair that was already sitting there. She nodded a greeting, and responded,
"It's no problem."

She stood and stretched, shaking out her pelt as she waited for her Clanmates to rise, and for Tulipfang to lead the group out of camp.

Giving a nod of greeting to both Redpaw and Briarpaw as the joined her, Tulipfang stood up and gave her fluffy white and ginger pelt a shake. "We can go right now!" the peppy she-cat purred. Turning towards the camp entrance, the warrior padded out of camp and into the marshy territory. "Today we'll be doing some hunting, so I hope your mentors have been training you well," she chuckled as they continued to nowhere inparticular.

Redpaw followed Tulipfang into the the territory, chuckling at the warrior's joke. The warming newleaf air felt nice on her face as the group pressed further into the marsh, and she found herself enjoying the walk. However, soon she noticed prey-scent, and with a nod to Tulipfang and Briarpaw, she split off from the group and began to stalk the scent. She identified the scent as mouse, and dropped into her best hunting crouch.

Soon, the mouse came into view, and it had its back turned to her. She gathered her haunches behind her, and pounced. The mouse didn't even have time to squeal as she landed on it, and she quickly ended its life with a quick nip to the back of its neck.

Triumphantly, she brought her catch back to the group.

Redpaw is attempting to hunt a mouse. She was successful!

With nothing more than an absent grunt in response to Tulipfang's odd sense of peppiness, Briarpaw stalked out of camp, a few pawsteps away from Redpaw. Briarpaw's mentor had been training her well, but it wasn't like she needed it anyway. After Redpaw parted ways with the small group, Briarpaw did the same, walking in the opposite direction the other she-cat had. Before she even had a chance to lift her nose into the air and search for prey, the dark tabby apprentice heard the low grumble, and she immediately recognized the sound as belonging to a raccoon. Whipping around to face it, she let out a low hiss of her own, daring it to make the first move- when it didn't, she leaped forward and bit down on its tail, yanking as hard as she could to disorient the creature.

Briarpaw used Tail Yank, dealing -2 Health Points and using -10 Stamina Points.

The growl of a raccoon alerted Redpaw to it's presence, and with quick reflexes, whipped around and raced to Briarpaw's side, leaving her prey. Briarpaw had already stunned the creature, and Redpaw swiped at the creature's face with unsheathed claws.

Redpaw used Front Paw Strike, dealing 6 damage, and costing 10 SP.

Watching as Redpaw began the hunt, Tulipfang was most surprised when a raccoon suddenly appeared. Within moments, the marshy area they were in burst into a flurry of hissing and screeching, and also the fat, mangy beast was a predator, Tulipfang found herself fired up and ready to teach this thing a lesson.

Rushing forward, the white and ginger she-cat reared up on her hind legs and slashed her unsheathed claws wildly at the raccoon before coming back down on all fours and jumping out of the way.

Tulipfang used Rear-Up to Slash, causing 11 damage and costing 15 stamina.
