Since StarClan's revelation, even as she tended to her regular duties, Mothglow found that every passing moment was laced with anxiety. How long would it last, this tentative moment of peace, until their ancestors acted on their threats? She paced more than usual, spent more time alone in her den. It was almost like she'd been in the wake of her father's death, but rather than despondent she was frantic. Herbs were sorted and stacked and resorted and restacked, over and over, because it was easier not to notice when she was focused on something that required her to pay attention.

She couldn't keep doing this, she knew - not because it was unhealthy (though it was), but because her Clanmates relied on her. Just as much as Thornstar or Flintshard, Mothglow was meant to keep them safe. If she was hidden in her den, frantic over some unpoken worry, the rest of the Clan was sure to pick up on her odd behavior. They likely already had, and she would have to hope they thought of it as nothing too important. So it was in everyone's best interest, then, that she act as she normally would - maybe it wouldn't be too difficult. Maybe, just maybe, she'd be able to believe in it herself.

Finally, after far too long, she left her den; not quite ready to face the rest of ShadowClan as she normally would but forcing herself to do so anyway.

Crowkit looked bored watching her siblings scamper around like the kits they were; mother not being too far behind them watching with enjoyment as at least two of her three kits were acting their age while Crowkit sat there apart from the others with a blank and bored look on her face as she watched her siblings. No one understood her and the fact that she had better things to worry about than pretending to be the next deputy or leader while fighting another leader or deputy of a rival clan like her siblings. She fought not to roll her eyes at them and instead turned her ever watchful gazes towards the camp clearing. She was itching to become an apprentice and show others what she could do; show them that brains could win battles just as much if not more than bronze.

A new scent hit her black smudged nose as her amber eyes scanned the cats milling around in the camp clearing. Crowkit was rather familiar with scents by now with how often she sat watching and listening to each clan mate; she knew their voices and scents as much as a kit would with their mother at birth. Her gaze turned towards the new comer who just came out of her den and smiled slightly at the familiar figure.

Mothglow. Crowkit was very familiar with this particular clan mate as the black and white molly kit would often visit her in the medicine den to talk with her or help out when she could and visit those sick or injured. She spent more time with Mothglow than she did her own family and that was saying something. The spotted molly stood to her paws and headed straight for the meddie with a small smile which quickly faded when she realized by her older friend's posture she was not doing too good again. Something was plaguing her mind as it often did. Frowning the kit paused in front of her as she neared.

"Mothglow, what's the matter?" she spoke up trying to gain the older she-cat's attention.

If there was anything the younger she-cat could do she would. She was the best listener in camp anyways as she barely spoke to many on a daily basis and preferred to listen more than to speak but she was good at advise giving because of her lack of speech.

"Oh! Crowkit," the medicine cat greeted, not unkindly. Kits were always welcome company, after all; and less prone to worrying than older cats often were. "Nothing is wrong," she assured her; a blatant lie, but one spoken with false confidence. "Don't worry yourself about me, it's just a little tiring spending so much time organizing the herb stores - especially in leaf-bare; there's hardly anything to sort!"

Crowkit frowned at the older molly and studied her face; she was not okay and the small kit knew it. If she was but a few moons old she would have offered to go out and help the meddie out by helping her get herbs. She knew with the seasons changing there had to be more growing. The poor she-cat was stressed that much the black and white kit knew just by the look in her eyes even if there was a smile on her face and spoke with a nonchalant she was.

"You're not fine." Crowkit spoke up rather bluntly and sighed shaking her head.

"What can I do to help you out? There's no point in you stressing yourself out...you know i've always been a good listener if you need someone to talk to." she gave the molly a look pressing her for more details.

Crowkit didn't like seeing the older molly look or seem so flustered over something. She seemed rather calm before whenever Crowkit would sit with her and help her out in the den or while she was in the den keeping the sick and wounded company while Mothglow tended to them.

"It's nothing you need to worry about, Crowkit," the medicine cat told her. "You won't be a kit forever, you know - you should enjoy it while it lasts, not worry about grown-up things." In that moment, all Mothglow wanted was to not have to worry about grown-up things herself. "Even if I'm not fine, dear, I'd rather not worry anyone. Nothing bad has happened yet."

Redpaw pushed her way out of the apprentice's den, head held high and her general air of sadness and irritability had dispersed. Since she'd been apprenticed, she'd almost become a new cat. Shaking her pelt, she looked around, catching sight of Mothglow and Crowkit, and padded over, trilling a greeting to them both.
Since Mothglow had saved her life, she'd felt a kind of kinship towards her, since she had almost no family left, save for Frecklepaw. But now, she had a kind mentor, and actually had a purpose other than brooding in camp like a dark storm cloud.
"Hey, Mothglow, Crowkit."

Seeing the once-weak Redkit transform into the confident and capable Redpaw was something that brought Mothglow an indescribable amount of joy. She'd been so worried, at first, that this cat's death would be on her paws; but here she stood, looking like she'd never been anything but the picture of perfect health. She felt attachment to all of her Clanmates, of course, but she had a soft spot for Redpaw in particular - she'd spent a decent amount of her kithood in the medicine den, after all, though it was out of necessity. "Redpaw!" the medicine cat greeted brightly. Though she looked fine, she couldn't help but ask, "Are you doing alright today?"

Crowkit frowned even more at the older cat's reply and wanted to argue; it didn't matter how old Crowkit was in her opinion. She still had a right to worry about whomever she pleased and her medicine cat that she spent much time with in the den was one of those that she wanted to worry about. She was going to argue but stopped herself but she heard another's voice break into their conversation. Her head turned to look over at the newly named Redpaw and smiled slightly. Crowkit remembered seeing Redpaw in the med den a few times when she came to visit the sick and injured before. She tipped her head towards the older molly and gave her a small rare smile.

"Morning Redpaw." she replied back and sat watching the interaction between the two other mollies.

Redpaw and Mothglow had an interesting relationship that Crowkit liked watching and observing from afar. A bit jealous herself that she did not get the same type of relationship growing up from her own family or others. But, she sort of did it to herself by not reaching out to others in a way so she couldn't be too harsh on herself for it. She cleared her throat and piped up with a brief conversational question.

"Now that you seem to be feeling better Redpaw, have you started your training sessions yet? What are they like?" it wouldn't be much longer before Crowkit herself would join Redpaw in the apprentice den.
