Houndheart had a hard time processing everything that had happened over the more recent moons. Between the loss in camp, reminding him of long-buried tragedies, and an encounter with his father, the young tom was torn apart by a torrent of churning emotions. It was his least favorite thing to face what nagged him just underneath the surface. Instead, he followed a surprisingly similar tactic to his father, burying himself into warrior duties. But the duty of a warrior could only tame his paws so much. It was what lead him to sprint so carelessly across the thunderpath, leaving borders behind, in pursuit of a squirrel. A monster whirled past behind him, causing him to leap the rest of the way onto Shadowclan territory. And when he looked up, there was a cat before him. A low snarl tore through his chest in the face of an enemy cat. This would be the perfect release, "Looking to steal another clan's prey, huh? Well, wherever that squirrel went, I can guarantee you it is still Thunderclan prey, you marsh rat."

Shadepaw was calmly watching the Thunderpath when a cat jumped out at her. Hissing in fright, she quickly scratched the warrior, backing away. "Wh-what? You're the one on Shadowclan territory mister!" She was furious that a disgusting mouse-breath Thunderclan cat dared cross her path. They were dead- well probably not but Shadepaw was angry and so was this very confused cat. "Plus, that squirrel is ours, it crossed into our territory." She smirked at the large tom, stalking around him.

"I was doing my duty as a warrior and hunting for my clan, kit! Does Shadowclan not know how to do more than steal prey from other clans?" Houndheart retorted quickly. If she was to attempt to lay claim on his catch, there was no way it would end with him fleeing. As the light sting of the apprentice's claws drove him forward, the new warrior prepared an attack of his own. She wouldn't get away with it that easily. He slid around, using his lanky limbs to leap to her side and lunge out at her tail. When he caught it between his teeth, the slender tom tugged backwards to throw her off balance. A yank to the tail never felt good. With that knowledge, he smirked. This kit would learn better than to mess with Thunderclan.

Houndheard used Tail Yank, dealing 3 damage and using 10 stamina. Shadepaw is stunned for 1 turn.

She was too distracted with talking to notice the warrior's movements. She suddenly felt something grab her tail and before she could react it was yanked. "Ow!" She felt unable to move from the sudden pull but she could still snap. "I'll get you!" She shook her head. "And I'll have you know you're the one who stepped foot on our territory! It seems to me like Thunderclan doesn't have anything left to do but to run across dangerous places!"

Shadepaw is stunned and can't move!

"Better that than being a prey-stealer." Houndheart jeered in return. Thankfully, his lowly tail-pulling tactic seemed to have been working because he was able to dance to her side and lash out with his claws. There was another moment of satisfaction. He didn't care that this was an apprentice and he was a warrior, what mattered was that he was winning against a Shadowclan cat. The prey had likely slipped away by now, thanks to her, so he wasn't going to run home so quickly with his tail between his legs. It would take much more strength to do that. Shadowclan had always boasted their skill and yet he had only seen a Skyclan cat best him in battle thus far. After slashing her side with his exposed claws, the slender tom leaped back to leave some distance between them in hopes to anticipate her next move.

Houndheart used front paw strike, dealing 8 damage and using 10 stamina. Shadepaw is no longer stunned.

Shadepaw:
9/20 HP (-8)
70/80 SP

Houndheart:
34/40 HP
100/120 SP (-10)

"So.." she huffed, sore and a little tired. ".. What you're saying is..." One more hit and she might have to run, but the battle wasn't over yet! "You'd rather die than be a prey stealer!" She purred, it was strong, but rippled by pain. Shadepaw felt the pain down the side of her but she was too busy trying to show how strong she was. Looking for an opening, she ran towards him with full force, tackling him. She backed away a little bit, wary of any next attack.

Shadepaw used Run and Tackle!
