The air was chilly and thick with the promise of freezing rainfall later in the evening. Honeypaw shivered, her short and fuzzy coat bushed out as far as she could extend it, yet the brisk bite of cold still penetrated through the pale yellow barrier of fluff. She wished she didn’t have to go out all on her own for her hunting assessment. Sunflower had told her it had to be done, no matter how badly she would have rather done something else — anything else — instead.

She hesitated as she neared the ShadowClan border, her trembling no longer just caused by the cold. Tensions between the two Clans were very thick ever since the death of ShadowClan’s deputy, and she was afraid that Thornstar might declare war against SkyClan. She wasn’t ready for war. She didn’t think she would ever be ready....

Having been so on edge, her thoughts drifting away from her assessment and instead honing in on the potentially terrifying future, she didn’t even notice the squirrel rustling through the underbrush from behind. Not daring to see what was behind her, fearing that somehow a ShadowClan cat had sneaked its way into her territory, she squealed in terror and bolted away from the source of the sound.

She didn’t even realize until it was too late that she had run right over the border, or that she had collided hard into something else. Something furry and living.

Collapsing to the ground, Honeypaw winced from the pain in her head from where she slammed into the other being, looking up through squinted eyes. They widened when she realized she had collided right into a ShadowClan cat! She leaped up immediately and began backing away towards the border. ”Oh, great StarClan, I’m so sorry! I didn’t mean it, please don’t be mad!” She knew deep down that all her begging and pleading would ultimately be for naught. She was doomed.

Honeypaw accidentally used Run-and-Tackle on Frostpaw, dealing 6 (+3) damage and costing 10 stamina.

"Foxdung," Frostpaw suddenly found herself stumbling backwards as something- no, someone -collided with her, knocking her onto her back. The dark-furred apprentice lifting her lip in a snarl, kicking back at the stranger reflexively before jumping back onto her paws. "You're going to regret this..." She hissed.

Honeypaw squealed in terror at the fury in the ShadowClanner's eyes. Thankfully, due to her jumpy nature, her reflexes were on point, and she managed to leap away from the counterattack. She stared wide-eyed at the opposing apprentice, her fur bushed up in fear. "P-Please, I'm sorry! I don't wanna fight you! J-Just lemme go back, please!"

Honeypaw used Dodge-and-Fight on Frostpaw, costing 15 stamina.
