Brindlekit’s Apprentice Ceremony

Stepping out from the warriors den, Ivybrook gazed around camp as the light mist began to rise higher in the sky, making way for what would hopefully be a productive day. She’d given in to Mistlepaw’s wishes and stayed in camp for the time being, despite the fact that she found it to be the most boring thing she’d done in the past moon. Looking up to the Willow Branch, the she-cat sighed before clumsily leaping up, trying not to hit the bottom of her belly on the branch. Once she could see the camp below her, she called out, ”All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Willow Branch for a Clan meeting!”

The small silver kit had grown quite a bit over the last few moons. While she still was small, she had definitely gotten much larger. Along with that came a bit more certainty about the world around her. Practically buzzing with excitement, Brindlekit sat beneath the branch and did her best not to start excitedly rambling about her ceremony.

Once Brindlekit had made her way to the center of camp, Ivybrook nodded at her. ”Brindlekit, please step forward.” Once the excitable kit did so, Ivybrook feigned a smile and continued with the ceremony. ”Brindlkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day forward until you become a warrior, you will be known as Brindlepaw. Honeytonuge will be your mentor. I have good faith that she will teach you everything you need to know to be a compassionate and strong warrior." Leaping down, the she-cat joined her Clanmates in celebrating RiverClan’s newest apprentice.

Brindlekit had stepped forward proudly, trying very hard not to tumble over her own paws. In signature Brindlekit fashion her tail had curled around her the second she sat back down. Upon hearing her new name being Brindlepaw, she couldn't help but bounce a little with excitement. As soon as the word Honeytongue also reached the new 'paws ears, a bright grin came to be. She knew that warrior! Without hesitating, Brindlepaw happily went over to the easily-found she-cat. "I'm so happy you're my mentor!"

Honeytongue sat near the front of the Gathered cats, her eyes glimmering at the sight of Brindlekit getting her name. She had tried to pay visits to the kit whenever she got the chance after their first meeting and she was overjoyed to see her take her name. She was surprised however when her name was called, perking up as she looked at Ivybrook with wide eyes. Really? She was still such a new warrior but she had faith in the deputy's choice...Besides, she already had a friendship with Brindlepaw. She watched as Brindlepaw came boundng over, all of her worry gone and replace with clear excitement. She laughed, leaning down to touch noses with her. "And I'm happy that you my apprentice, Brindlepaw. We'll start training tomorrow. For now...Go make a nest in the apprentice den and get to know your denmates."
