| Wolfkit's eyes glittered at the announcement, and as a murmur of shock rippled through the gathered crowd, a somewhat smug look settled on the kit's face. Tinystar was stepping down from leader... that meant Spottedleap, his father, would be the next clan leader. Though he longed to go out and join the meeting, he wasn't sure he'd be allowed to, and that stilled him, for now.
He sat daintily just outside the nursery, tail curled around his paws, gaze fixed on the meeting. |

| Honeypaw snuggled up against her father, grateful for his presence. She didn't want to be alone, but she was no good at being anywhere near other cats. She sighed blissfully, soaking up his warmth against the chilly leaf-fall air.
Then the announcement came. Tinystar was stepping down from leadership? Honeypaw looked up at her great-great grandfather in surprise. How come he was stepping down? He was so short, so surely that meant he was still also so young? Then again, the injury he had spoken of was probably the main contender to why he was stepping down. Still, her sympathy for her kin had not been overshadowed by the pride she suddenly felt when she looked up at Spottedleap. Her father, SkyClan's deputy, was going to become leader of the entire Clan. It was a rather jarring thought; that meant she had even more of a reason to be the best cat she can possibly be. After all, she will soon be the daughter of SkyClan's leader. That was quite a reputation to uphold.
