Tinystar's Trial - CLAN POLL PLEASE VOTE

Hey all!

So we are running out of time to finish up the trial topic. Instead of voting on the thread, please fill out this form below as soon as possible! You have until it is time to announce the winning tally and I will give a final warning in Discord. I have decided to go without the poll option so we may make sure that the count is accurate and only has SkyClan cats.

So what am I voting on?: You are voting on whether Tinystar should be temporarily demoted for two moons to live life as a warrior or as deputy. This will also translate to two months of OOC demotion for Ice- that is, Rusk/Misty will take on the role as leader and a temporary deputy will be appointed (if he is demoted to warrior). Tinystar will not lose his name and his lives will not be taken away.

(The warrior or deputy thing is subject to change because I honestly can't remember what was decided but I'm posting this anyway.)

In Character Explanation: Kinda obvious, but Burningsun believes Tinystar needs to be reminded that he is not StarClan and does not have the right to dictate who lives and dies. She hopes forcing him to live as a warrior will remind him of this.

In Character Explanation: Spottedleap believes in a leader's absolute rule and thinks demoting his god-king after killing him is both overboard and sacrilegious.

In Character Explanation: Sandblaze thinks that if he had trusted his clan enough to guide his decision, he would have understood that execution was not necessary for one misguided act of violence. It makes sense that he should have to learn what it means to rely on and trust in your clanmates and see that he is neither above nor below them. He wants his former mentor to trust them all to look after him the same was he looks after SkyClan.

In Character Explanation: Foxpaw is pretty confused on what is going on and isn't great at thinking for himself, mostly on serious matters like this...So he panicked, heard what his mentor Spottedleap voted, and went along with it because clearly Spottedleap knows best.

In Character Explanation: Being Tinystar’s son, Sunflower is nothing but loyal to his father. While he did wrong, Sunflower still trusts his decision and has faith in him to be a better cat.

In Character Explanation: Lightfang trusts absolutely in StarClan's judgment via Burningsun and is pretty much blindly going along with her (and his brother) in the hope that it will end in justice being done. He also wants proof that Tinystar really is trustworthy and feels that proof would be most apparent in a temporarily-demoted Tinystar living alongside the Clan rather than above them.

In Character Explanation: Stormpaw thinks in absolute black-and-white, and refuses to change her mind on anything. She believed for all her childhood that Tinystar was a perfect leader, and will deny anything suggesting the contrary.

In Character Explanation: Amberdawn whole-heartedly believes in and supports a trial, but she doesn't want to be part of it. She will avoid any sort of request for comment on Tinystar's fate.

In Character Explanation: Following the exile of Delta, Swallowflight has been extremely lost, and for the time being, put all of his faith in Tinystar (he did give her the choice to stay, after all). However, the news of his crimes have come to light, forcing him to choose a side. He can't help but remember Delta, briefly putting her in Sparrowpaw's paws and realizing: "oh wow he could've murdered my own sister." For this reason, he feels as if knocking Tiny off his high horse for a while will be good for him. Living as a warrior for a while will help Tinystar regain the trust he lost from the clan.

In Character Explanation: Leaftwirl is incredibly lost right now, world turned upside down by the current circumstances of her life. It's easy for her to be herself when times are good, and yet the she-cat has never been faced with adversity before, and doesn't quite know who to be or how to act when needed to overcome a trial. She is horrified by what Tinystar did, but won't vote for or against him. She still hopes he is a good cat, being he was her mentor, but would hate herself if she ever brought herself to defend a murderer.

In Character Explanation: Mistyrain is Tinystar's deputy and she has forgiven him for executing Sparrowpaw. She doesn't want to continually stir up old conflicts and Tinystar has been present and very important to her throughout her life (for example, he gave her the choice to return to WindClan with her mother or stay in SkyClan where she had already begun her apprenticeship). She respects and trusts Tinystar and isn't willing to risk the relationship that they have. She knows that she has always been a constant, supporting him even in disagreement.

Cat Name: Daylily

In Character Explanation: Daylily is Tinystar's daughter, and while she is on the fence over whether or not he deserves demotion, there are two reasons to sway her decision to no demotion. First, her littermate Sunflower is voting for no demotion, and he is the cat she is closest to. She values his opinion over any other's and does not want to risk a disagreement with him. Second, as Tinystar is her father, she would feel humiliated if he was demoted. For the sake of her own pride, she wants to avoid that part of his punishment.

Cat Name: Mintwhisker

In Character Explanation: Mintwhisker feels really conflicted about the trial as a whole- on one hand, she wants to finally put Sparrowpaw to rest and feels that a trial/punishment will do that, but she knows that she can't go against Tinystar both because she's honor-bound to support him (he's one of her last living family members, her leader, father figure), and she knows that he's one of the few cats in Skyclan that will protect and defend her if the truth about the murder (whatever it may be, even she isn't sure) is revealed.
Mint sees a lot of herself in him. She needs his support and believes, or at least wants to believe, that he didn't really mean to kill Sparrowpaw and he just got carried away- she's half-convinced herself that the same thing happened with herself and Sedgestrike, and she didn't mean to kill him.

Cat name: Swanpaw

In-character explanation: While Swanpaw believes that killing an apprentice in cold blood was not the right thing to do, she knows it was one mistake, and Tinystar admitted to it. If this had been right after Sparrowpaw's death, she would have whole-heartedly voted for demotion, but now he's had to deal with the guilt, and she believes that if he were faced with the same decision now he would choose better. Plus Burningsun killing him does not sway her to the demotion cause at all.

In Character Explanation: While she hates that she had to learn stuff about her leader this way, and thinks Tinystar deserves to be punished for what he had done, killing him was enough of a punishment. Besides leader's word is law right? He still has his name so she feels if he wasn't meant to be leader Starclan would have taken care of it already.
