Everyone Starts Somewhere

The eagle's struggling was starting to fade, and after a quick flash of claws from Stormpaw it screeched and slashed out to her. Talons scored over old scars from the eagle she had fought on her own, and with a final hiss and slice of claws the eagle stilled, never to move again. Taking a moment to catch her breath, she ignored the wound on her shoulder and went to go check on her apprentice. "Stormpaw, are you alright? You took that hit like a true warrior, and you fought as fiercely as any warrior I know. Well done, Stormpaw. Let's get these fish and the eagle back to camp, shall we? We'll have to let Torrentstar and Ivybrook know about how you fought an eagle and won today. I'm very proud of your courage and quick thinking." She purred as she set the fish the eagle had stolen from the young she-cat in front of her, and picked up her own before shoulder the eagle on her back. She nodded to her apprentice as she lead the way back to camp, relief that her apprentice was alright and pride in her accomplishments on only her first day of training warming her grieving heart.

Stormpaw was breathing heavily, but she was proud. She caught her first fish and she beat an eagle! Well with the help of her mentor of course. She watched as her mentor put the eagle on her back, and picked up her own fish. She wanted to carry the large bird, but her wounds from the one attack hurt significantly. Who knew the bird would be that powerful? Picking up the fish she caught, she followed her mentor back to the camp. She was certainly going to put some of the eagle's feathers in her nest. She was proud of what she accomplished today.
