Sunpaw and Daypaw's Warrior Ceremony

Sitting in front of the group of SkyClan cats in which he'd gathered together, Tinystar took a deep breath. This was all so weird... his clan being so much smaller than it had already been and not knowing where the rest of their clanmates were. While he would never admit such a thing to any-cat else, if he was to be honest, he was lost, very lost. Of course, he was doing his best to be a confident leader to the small group of remaining clanmates, but he'd never imagined such a thing. Everything had happened so suddenly and while he tried to stay strong and level headed, even with his mate, Moonlight injured, all he wished for was to see Mintwhisker, Amberdawn, and the rest of his clan walk up the hill to where SkyClan and WindClan were. Maybe then, he'd be a little more at peace.

But alas, the rest of the clan were still missing, and here they were, living in Mother Mouth for who knows how long.

Around the edge of the group of SkyClanners, the curious eyes of strangers pried at their pelts, desperately wishing to listen in on what was happening. Shifting his gaze away from the outskirts of the gathered cats and to his clanmate's equally curious eyes, he gave them a nod.

"While the timing is odd and things aren't exactly the same as they were back home, we gather here tonight to give a two apprentices their warrior names. Sunpaw, Daypaw, please step forward," he mewed with a soft smile, looking to his kin, which he was ever grateful to StarClan for keeping them safe. "I, Tinystar, leader of SkyClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in their turn. Sunpaw, Daypaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" the midget leader asked, looking from his son and then to his daughter.

Giving his father a nod, Sunpaw's heart raced, as he assumed it was him and Daypaw's warrior ceremony. With so many unfamiliar cats watching them, the lengthy tom's pelt itched with anxiousness and looking to his sister, he envied how put together she always way. If only he was born with such confidence... Shaking the thoughts away, he looked back down to his father, listening as the little leader recited the ceremonial words.

"I do," he mewed, making sure his usually meek voice was loud enough for Tinystar to hear over the hum of voices.

After her Moonstone journey had been completed, Daypaw had known it was only a matter of time until her warrior ceremony. She and Sunpaw had certainly earned their full names by now. As Tinystar began to speak, she moved closer to him where Sunpaw was already listening attentively. It was, in fact, as she had expected. Her heart raced with excitement - this moment was what she had worked for for nearly her whole life! She had never anticipated any portion of WindClan to be present, but she would not let this unfavorable circumstance stand between her and becoming a warrior. When it was her turn to speak, she stood tall and her answer rang out clearly. "I do."

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior names. Sunpaw, from this day forward you shall be known as Sunflower and Daypaw, you shall be known as Daylily. SkyClan honors both of your loyalty towards the clan. Congratulations," he finished. With that, Tinystar made his way to his kits with the ceremonial words trailing after him, and offered a soft bump of his muzzle to the newly named warriors in a quiet form of congratulations as other Clanmates flocked forwards as well. Times were odd, yes, but today, he was a proud father and leader that got to see his clan grow, even in such harsh conditions.

Sunflower... it wasn't a very masculine name for a warrior, but it suited his soft nature, none the less. Sitting up a little straighter as his father finished, his true height was exposed as he basked in pride for a few moments before shrinking back to his usual somewhat hunched over stature. Turning to the newly named Daylily, the abnormally big eared tom gently nudged his shoulder to her's, a smile on his muzzle. "Congratulations, Daylily," he purred happily. After what had seemed like ages, they were both named warriors. Maybe now, he'd be able to do his father proud.
