One moment, he clung to the back of the cat who was the very bane of his existence, and the next he was being thrown from his place and into the mud. Claws were torn from the blue-silver tabby fur and tufts of fur came with it. As Starlord skidded through the muck and filth, it was if he was snapped back into reality. The soul-crushing anguish that gripped him seemed to release and he went limp underneath Goldeneye. His electrifying, blue gaze became glazed over with unreadable emotions, defeat was hidden in the depth. For a moment, the loner didn't move even a whisker. Out of the side of his blurred gaze, the tom drank in the outline of his beloved medicine cat. It seemed to soothe the untamable emotions that wracked his body and had lead to such an outburst, and the unavoidable vanquishing of his normally jovial being. Starlord became a ghost of himself in mere moments and was shock-still as a result.
Until a low, breath shuttered through his frame. Slowly, as if his limbs were made of ice, the tom rolled over onto his stomach as she pulled away. Starlord leaned into her plush coat, unaffected by the many scars that marred it, and breathed in her scent that had become buried by the mud that now covered the pair of them. Her scent caused something to tug within his chest. A shaky and silent sob escaped his maw and was lost into Goldeneye's side. Moons of loss had welled up within him and seemed to burst at the comfort of the she-cat who had shared a nest with him for some time. Oh, how he had missed her for so long. It had once seemed like he would never be in her presence as well. But this was real and she was with him once again. If it weren't for her arrival, he would have ripped apart the Riverclan leader until one of them was dead. That was now a forgotten goal.
"Oh, Gold..." He muttered almost inaudibly, "It's so good to see you. I never thought I'd see you again. I wish I'd never had had to leave you." Similar to the previous moments, the words were lost. The tom was enamored by the moment, with the cat of his dream standing here before him. Breathing in her scent was intoxication and soothing all at once. Starlord collapsed at her paws, settling underneath her and half-closing his eyes. The exhaustion seemed to take over once more and with the knowledge that she was here, everything was almost alright for a moment.
