Better Days are Coming [Closed]

The golden tabby left buried his fish next to him and looked around to check over the rest of his clanmates. It seemed like Flurryshine and Hawkpaw finally decided to stop testing their luck and actually fish, the best skill of every Riverclan cat. Berrycloud leaned his body forward in an attempt to catch another one of those slippery animals but a shadow over the water caught his attention. The warrior lifted his head to the sky and noticed kingfisher flying near to the water until it finally landed on a willow branch. He didn't think too much about it. A bird of that size it was even better than a regular fish. Berrycloud entered the forest area of the territory and hid in the bushes, his eyes always fixed on the colorful bird. But before he could even give the big jump, the cry of another bird scared his objective away alongside other animals. Berrycloud let out a hiss and hit a rock to one side, frustrated.

Well, thst sucked and that stupid bird gave the alarm to everyone. He thought bitterly as he returned back to the group. The tom dug the dirt and grabbed his fish to get back. "The prey in the forest has left for sure the area. There's no point hunting here anymore unless we wanna get our paws frozen. Let's head back to the camp."

Before Lightstep could think of where to search for prey next, another bird let out an alarm not too far away, and the white warrior heard one of his Clanmates his with frustration. Lightstep winced slightly. I hope my botched catch didn't cost someone else theirs, he thought guiltily. As he made his way towards the sound to check, he made note that all the birds chirping in their section of the forest had gone quiet. We certainly won't be catching anything else here, he thought, snorting. The tom still couldn't help but feel like he'd scared off the prey, but there was nothing to be done about it now. Bad things happened to everybody, and the second bird could have been unrelated to his own, he reasoned hopefully.

He padded into the opening where he had separated from his Clanmates to find Berrycloud looking frustrated as he dug up his fresh-kill. As Lightstep padded off to retrieve his little vole from earlier, his ears flicked as he heard the other warrior stating that the prey had fled and they should return to camp. Vole in mouth, Lightstep nodded agreement and padded up to his Clanmate to begin the journey back.

Hawkpaw ventured deeper into the trees, keeping his mouth open and his ears ready for any scent or sound that comes his way. He heard some commotion not far off as another few birds started sending off warning calls. Now all the prey must be gone. Turning back around he dug up his fish and headed back into the clearing they started at, finding some of his clanmates already there. He saw that none of them were carrying and birds. 'hmph' Hawkpaw grumbled over the silver scales of the fish. He nodded as he heard the suggestion to go back to camp, then followed his clanmates down the path.
