Perfect [Closed]

Emberheart stretched out in the nursery, staring at her kits. Each one was perfect, at least to her: she wondered if her mother had thought something similar, looking at her and her siblings when she was just a kit. There was Horsekit, a solid brown that reminded her quite a bit of his father. Daisykit, whose orange fur was slightly less vibrant than her own ginger-and-white coat. Redkit and Cedarkit, who shared a darker red coat. And, of course, the slightly older two that shared none of her physical features: Stormkit, a partially-white kit with splashes of color in her fur, and Adderkit a pale, spotted kit. They did not share her blood, but they were as much hers as the rest of them.

"They're perfect," she declared decisively. "What do you think?" she asked a moment later, looking to Weedblaze as if daring him to disagree.

(OOC: Assuming this was some time after the birth, I've tried to keep this somewhat general lol)

The slightly older tom had been hiding near the back of the nursery, but with no luck. Adderkit's white pelt were dappled with light from the crevices of the bramble bush, making him stand out. Huddled in his corner, he looked on towards his mother and father, his brothers and sisters. Stormkit was depicted to be almost the same age as him, but company did not comfort the scared tom from the loud birthing of Emberheart. Her yowls kept Adderkit at bay, and ever since he had been reluctant to join his mother for the comfort and warmth he always wanted.

He heard the lively kits sing in their mother's paws, their small mews rising from the nursery. Adderkit curiously took a small step forward, his paws daring him to meet the new arrivals. It was Weedblaze who stopped him in his tracks; the large, brown-and-white tom standing over Emberheart and her kits; his stature taller than the resting cats in the nursery. His intimidating figure kept Adderkit from meeting him. The small tom realised that he could either keep to himself in the nursery and let Weedblaze forever intimidate him, or seek the comfort of his mother and rid of his fears. His decision was quickly made for him as his paws carried him towards his mother. Adderkit avoided Weedblaze's gaze while dashing towards Emberheart, but so focused on avoiding his father, his paws forgot to stop as he clumsily crashed into Emberheart's ginger fur. It was the cutest and smallest collision the cats had ever seen. He propped himself back up, mewing in frustration.

His face hot from embarrassment, he peered over Emberheart, his blue eyes scanning his new brothers and sisters. Their furs shared the same complexions as their parents, much to Adderkit's dismay, he shared none of them from his mother. It was Weedblaze who reflected into Adderkit, but it would take some time for the young kit to get used to his father. The quiet tom continued to observe the new kits, their entertainment keeping Adderkit from acknowledging Weedblaze and Emberheart.

It was at this moment, this perfect introduction, that Adderkit knew he was a part of his family.

Horsekit was itching to do something.

Scuffling his littermates was fun, as was clawing at their sides -- especially when they squeaked! -- and even being cuffed across the head by his mother wasn't so bad. He always tried to dodge her, and last time he felt he got a little closer to -- and she was way fast! It was a challenge! So overall, the restlessness in his bones was well spent trying for his littermate's red and ginger pelts... Until Emberheart started separating him.

Wrestling was fun. Avoiding his mother was fun. 

But being without anyone -- just his mother's disapproval -- was not. 

So Horsekit grumbled and let go of his sibling before getting too rough. His mother didn't seem to notice. Emberheart was busy gazing at them, almost absently, a fond smile on her face, and the other, larger cat -- pelt so much like his own -- was, too. He wanted to pounce on the tom, just to see what he'd do but Horsekit knew by how his mother treated him that Horsekit wouldn't get to for long. 

Weedblaze was a dark brown, looming presence. Horsekit flicked his ear, looking down at his paws -- seeing the same shade there, just as it was all across his little body. It was weird. Emberheart always said they were getting bigger. Will I get as big as Weedblaze?

If he did, then his mother definitely wouldn't be able to catch him! 

Maybe he'd actually get to leave the stupid nursery.

Restlessness tingled in his limbs, as his littermates mewed beside him and he was left sitting there, just staring at Weedblaze. 

But it was then that he noticed something new -- a little tom with white, brown-speckled fur. Immediately, Horsekit's ears flicked up. He didn't look anything like Horsekit, or Emberheart, or his other littermates. And he was bigger, too. But he wasn't huge and looking down on them like Weedblaze, like he could separate Horsekit if he made trouble, and it had Horsekit bounding forward.

"Who're you?" Horsekit asked, looking the other tom over with sharp amber eyes. The other tom was bigger, but the way he moved -- the way his ears lay and a little of his smell -- made him seem smaller, almost, as he almost hid behind Emberheart. Why was he doing that? "And what's wrong with you?"

He looked like he just got yelled at, or smacked, except he hadn't been. 

Diasykit stood up slowly and sniffed. Every moment and he was getting to know new smells and new things, he was feeling a lite confused and scared, there were so many strange things around him; from new scents of cats to smells of nursery.

He was newborn, but his birth was already some time ago.

He was keeping close to the scent which he knew very well, it was the scent of his mother Emberheart and his siblings, altough some of them were carrying a little different scent. Daisykit even thought that they had not the same mother.

But his mind was so overwhelmed, that he fell in the confused world of scents again and began discovering new things. There were some interesting plants, from which the place was built, he tried to remember the word for this den; nursery. He smiled, something new again.

Suddenly he heard some noises and discovered that voices were not coming from his mother.

His siblings? He stayed on the safe place right next to his mother, but he also tried to listen to startening conversation.

Stormloop had been quitly looking while her new mother gave birth to her new siblings. She looked at the kits and let out a soft laugh as one of the kits, horsekit if she rememberd corectly asked Aderkit a question, alright so atleast she had one brother who was not afraid to ask quistions.
She decided she wanted a better look at her new brothers and sisters and walked towards them. “Nothing is wrong with your brother Horsekit he is just a shy fly. I am Stormkit by the way, your sister.”
She looked at the kits with a twich of joy in her belly after all now clan life was going to become even more intresting! She looked at Emberheart with joy writen over her face then quickly whisperd “ Thanks mom, this is the best thing that ever happend to me.”

The orange ball of fluff sat off to the side attempting to avoid being poked and prodded at by anyone. Cedarkit was very much over being new to ThunderClan. The tom looked at brothers and they all looked different in their own way. Horsekit obviously looked like the odd ball out but he mirrored their father, while Daisykit, Cedarkit, and Redkit all shared their mother's coloration, but Daisykit was a tad lighter. Cedarkit had a bit more fluff than his brother, but they looked the most similar out of the four brothers.

Cedarkit looked at the two actual odd ball siblings who looked nothing like any one of the four boys or their parents. He knew why the she-cat and the other tom didn't look like Emberheart or Weedblaze, his mother had explained the situation to them earlier. Cedarkit didn't know how he felt about it yet, but neither Stormkit or Adderkit had given him a reason to doubt their loyalty to Emberheart, Weedblaze or him and his 3 siblings.

Weedblaze looked at the litter he never expected to have. They were perfect, each in their own way. He was wary of the outsider kits that they had brought into their fold, but the brash anger that he might have felt over it once upon a time had washed away into concern for their safety should someone more like his old self find out about their heritage. A slight mrrow tickled his chest at Emberheart's declaration. "Yes, they are rather perfect. Though, I believe they get all that from you. What do you think?"

Meanwhile, Redkit was busy trying to stay comfortable and sleep. Everyone was getting up and moving, doing this or that. Soon, there was barely anything for him to cuddle against as he tried to enjoy hie days of kithood while they lasted. Everyone wanted to be apprentices, everyone wanted to learn how to fight. Redkit, however, was content with staying where he was and sleeping. He hardly wanted to go out and fight other cats, let alone be the one taking the lives of the prey they needed to survive. He was gentle, curious, but very nonviolent.

Emberheart looked at him, a twinkle in her eye as she tried to keep her expression neutral overall. "Well. They clearly didn't get it from you," she replied, somewhat teasing. Okay, maybe her ego was a little bit inflated at the moment, but... She glanced at her kits, and then she glanced back at Weedblaze. He could be perfect once he had kitted, as far as she was concerned.

Still, he had come a long way from the warrior who had taunted her for trying to bring her Clanmates together in the wake of tragedy. But she supposed she had come a long way, too, and shouldn't be so surprised. It was quite a while ago now, after all, and so many things had happened since then. The snow on the ground outside reminded her of too many things to count (it seemed to her that her happiest memories were all filled with snow, including this), but the past was gone and the future was before them now.
