Easing on Down the River [Open]

Logs in the River were common. Sure, they weren't a everyday occurrence, yet they weren't something particularly strange to see in the river either. But today was different. Today, a fallen tree floating down the river had a different aspect. Along with the usual branches, leaves, moss, and other commonalities, a small mass of white and black fur could be seen on the back of the log.

There, lying on the back of the log, was Fish, lazily balancing on the back of his vessel as it carried him down the current Occasionally taking swipes at fish that swam below his drooping paws.

"Um, excuse me," a rather aggressive voice suddenly called from one of the riverbanks. A fluffy, pure-white molly with vibrant green eyes was glaring at him from one end of the river, watching as Fish and the log he laid on floated gently down the river -- her river. "Just what do you think you're doing? This is RiverClan territory! You have no right to be here! Either you leave now or I will make you leave!"

His ears perk up at the voice as he looks over at the cat, a unreadable smile appearing on his face as he responds.
“First, your excused. Second, I’m relaxing and fishing. Third, I thought you river-cats owned the shore, not the river. And fourth and finally,” -he glances at Thunderclans territory- “I don’t think that either of those are gonna happen.”

"Oh, is that so?" Flurryshine growled, her hackles beginning to rise. After all that had happened with Lichenmask and the rogues and the eclipse and the death of her apprentice on top of literally everything else that went horribly, horribly wrong in her life, she had found herself to have less and less patience and tolerance for things nowadays, and intruders was one thing she was quickly getting sick and tired of. "I am not going to warn you again! Either you leave RiverClan territory now or I will attack you! And I promise you, you will not want me to do that!"

OOC: I was going to have him run... then I remembered this character has no sense of self control or when someone wants them dead...


He tilts his head at her cackles, 'This cat is clearly insane...', he thinks, but he chooses to respond anyway.

"Sure you will..." He says, rolling his eyes and lying facing away from her on the log. 'Surely she wouldn't actually swim to him just to knock him off and drow-' he cuts off his thought, head shooting up as he realized the disadvantageous place he was sitting, scanning the shore to see if she moved when he looked away.

No cats were seen on the shore, and while it seemed at first like Flurryshine really had left, a large white body could be seen swimming rapidly towards the log underwater. Splashing out of the river and leaping onto the log, digging her hind claws into the wood to keep her footing, Flurryshine grasped Fish’s scruff hard and dunked his head underwater, digging her claws into his shoulders to keep him under.

Flurryshine used Underwater Clinch on Fish, dealing 11 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Fish is Stunned for one turn.

His eyes widening when he notices the form, he manages to say, "Aw foxd-" before being forced under.
For a moment he thinks to try and pull himself back up, but then realizing where he was he instead pushes himself all the way into the river. He swims blindly for a moment before grasping the log, scrambling back on and tensed for her next attack.

Fish is no longer stunned.

The fluffy white molly grunted in annoyance when her opponent managed to squirm free from her grasp back into the river. How very clever. She knew he wouldn't be able to hide underwater forever, and if he tried to swim away she'd be able to easily catch up to him. Thankfully, it didn't have to come to that, as Fish's head broke from the surface. As soon as he scrambled back onto the log, she reared up and slashed her claws across his face, nearly catching his eye, sending him flying back into the water. The log became unbalanced from the momentum, and so she fell back into the water as well, but she managed to keep her head above the flowing current to prepare for a counterattack.

Flurryshine used Rear-Up to Slash on Fish, dealing 13 damage and costing 15 stamina.

He hits the water dazed and disoriented, the current pulling him down before he managed to break the surface. He grabs at whatever he can to fight the current, and as he floats underwater past Flurryshine, he unknowingly catches her tail, grabbing and yanking it for a moment and pulling her under. A second later he breaks the surface and sees the Riverclan shore and starts swimming towards the shallows. Once there turning back to the river, prepared for a expected counter attack.



Fish uses Tail Yank on Flurryshine, dealing 5 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Flurryshine’s cry of alarm was drowned out as she was yanked underwater, and she nearly inhaled a lungful of water in panic. Kicking her legs as hard as she could, she resurfaced and gasped for breath before coughing vigorously, swimming back to the shore where Fish had fled to, almost able to recollect herself to attack once again.

Seeing her swimming towards him, he lifts up a paw to attack her onshore but stops.. He puts down his paw with a sigh and steps back preparing for her attack. As much as he knew he would regret not attacking then, attacking her while she was unprepared was not a move he would make.

Fish wastes his turn, dealing 0 damage and costing 0 Sp

Blinking in surprise once she was able to stand up straight and shake herself off, Flurryshine stared at her opponent. He hadn't attacked when he had a clear opening? But why? As a matter of fact, now that she was taking a better look at him... he seemed rather young. About apprentice-aged. She tilted her head to the side inquisitively.

Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.

That's right. The warrior code. It had to be followed no matter what. This cat may have been young, but he certainly wasn't a kit unable to fend for himself. Right now he was no better than a full-grown rogue trying to steal prey. She had to make sure this cat knew this land belonged to RiverClan.

Getting back into the field of battle, Flurryshine growled before pouncing at him. She would make sure he regretted wasting his turn to attack. Rearing up and positioning her paws quickly over his head, she then slammed them down hard against his head, slamming his jaw into the hard ground.

Flurryshine used Upright Lock on Fish, dealing 14 damage and costing 25 stamina.

Black spots danced across his vision as he stumbled back onto his paws and back-stepped from his opponent. 'Regret' had come rapidly in the form of a burning pain in his jaw as he struggled to regain focus on the warrior.
Lasting much longer wasn't going to be possible, he knew. As now coupled with the wounds he already had, any more hits like that would certainly leave him down and with a broken jaw.

"Yet, that still can’t stop me from doing this," he thinks, charging at her with his head down.

He rams into the cat at full force, sending him and her tumbling into the shallows with a spray of water. He remains under for only a second though as he quickly gets back up, the water at his belly as he turns towards her, already tense for the final and inevitable blow.

With a grunt as the wind was momentarily knocked out of her, Flurryshine collapsed to the ground, but whipped back up onto her paws in an instant. Rushing back up to the rogue, she rose a forepaw, but kept her claws sheathed, and clocked him hard on the side of the head to send him back down to the ground. As she knew one final blow would do the trick in subduing him, she didn't feel the need to use any claws. "The battle has been won. I suggest you leave now. Before I call for back-up. And trust me when I say you will wish I hadn't should it have to come to that."

Flurryshine used Front Paw Blow on Fish, dealing 9 damage and costing 10 stamina.
