A new Black kit

As Blackkit steps out of the nursery last of his litter to be alive, he looks around the clearing in aw at how big it is

Falconpaw turned dull eyes toward the kit, usually lively gaze pained with grief. Normally, she would be happy to play with a kit. But, with Beepaw gone... She sighed and laid her head on her paws, obvious to any onlooker that something was bothering her.

Thistlekit dropped into his best imitation of a hunter's crouch, eyes locked onto Blackkit. He waited a few moments before pouncing onto the other kit's back.

Blackkit threw Thistlekit off his back and turns to pounce back.

Thistlekit's eyes gleamed with excitement. His fur fluffed up as he charged over to Blackkit.

Blackkit dodged out of the way and jumped on Thistlekit's back

Thistlekit rolled over onto his back, making Blackkit under him. He then jumped on his paws, stumbling a bit, before cuffing the other kit's ear with his paw. "Ha! I win. I'm gonna be the best warrior ever!" he exclaimed.


OOC: I have to wait 5 more days until it's time for Thistlekit's apprentice ceremony

"Fine you win, but I will get you next time" Blackkit exclaimed. As he trots back into the nursery tail high. "I'll get you next time Thistlekit"

Thistlekit watched the black-furred kit leave, his eyes lighting up with triumphant. Then he got distracted by a leaf and dropped into a crouch, he wiggled his hind legs in anticipation before pouncing.

Turning back for 2 seconds Blackkit jumps on Thistlekit's back after he pounced. "never let your guard down" Blackkit said with a light of his triumph in his eyes.

"That's not fair!" Thistlekit protested. He shook the other kit off him before giving his chest a few licks from embarrassment.

Falconpaw couldn't help chuckling a bit at Thistlekit's antics. He seemed so much like her when she was young and happy, before she had encountered death. StarClan, let this kit enjoy his playful innocence for a while longer. she prayed silently. Maybe she could help him out. Protect him. She could at least recognize that the grief she held for Beepaw wasn't healthy, but maybe hanging around a kit could help ease the pain. She trotted up to Thistlekit. "And how is the mighty warrior doing?" She laughed playfully.

Thistlekit blinked in surprise at the she-cat's greeting, usually apprentices weren't interested in kits. "Well I was great until that furball cheated!" he huffed in irritation. He sat down and neatly placed his tail over his front paws, waiting expectantly for the apprentice to back him up.

"Go on. A strong kit like yourself can take him!" She laughed again, ruffling his fur with a paw. "I have your back if things turn nasty." She dropped her voice to a serious tone, trying to make it sound as if Thistlekit was going to attack a dangerous warrior.

Thistlekit purred with pleasure from receiving the compliment. He clumsily dropped low to the ground, taking a few moments to lock in on his target before he launched himself at Blackkit. "Take that!" he growled, looking down at his opponent. Then he looked up at Falconpaw, his eyes gleaming with pride. "How was that?" He mewed, anticipating more praise from the she-cat.
