Ivykit's Apprentice Ceremony

Another one of the formerly rogue kits was ready to claim her apprentice name. Ivykit. The name stirred complex emotions within Scorchclaw. It was certainly a weighty name; reminiscent of RiverClan's former leader. The fluffy deputy wasn't sure who had named the kit. Goldeneye had, or perhaps Jaystar. Whoever it was, he doubted that they had not deliberately named Ivykit after the late Ivystar. Ivykit had a lot of growing to do if she was going to live up to her name.

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Willow Branch for a clan meeting." He called confidently from his perch in the willow tree.

Tossing her thick grey fur that nearly exactly resembled that of her late grandmother's, Ivykit strutted out of the nursery with her head held high. She already knew this was her time- What else could it be? She was one of the last of her siblings still in the nursery, and she was well over six moons old. Was it because she was a rogue? It... It couldn't be. No way. She wouldn't let herself believe that.

Scorchclaw flicked his dark tail, waiting patiently as his clanmates slowly gathered down below. A breeze chose that moment to sweep by, stirring the leaves of the willow tree. When almost every cat who fulfilled the requirement was present, the fluffy deputy decided to start the ceremony. His pale-green gaze alighting on the young she-kit in the crowd, he called for her. "Ivykit, step forward." There was a slight pause as she did. "Ivykit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this today onward until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Ivypaw. Your mentor will be Lavenderlily. While young, she is a trustworthy, responsible warrior. She will train you well."

As the cheers for the newly-named Ivypaw rose into the air, he leaped off the Willow Branch.
