Coldpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Darkness... and a red light... that had been the landscape that the world had given to them each day since the start of this nightmare. Until now, there had been no sign of the Exiles and Lichenmask. However, for the clan to survive, the clan life had to keep going and it was nonsense to keep apprentices waiting for their ceremonies in these times when warriors were more needed than ever. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the willow branch for a clan meeting!" He yowled, his fur slightly crisped by the persistent sensation of danger.

Coldpaw stalked out of the apprentice den towards willow branch, she sat down and looked up at Jaystar. She was going to become a warrior today she were sure of it! She waited in silence for JAystar to continue.

The tom wasn't one of those cats who quickly forget and he could still remember that she clearly disrespected a senior warrior such as Spotfur for a disability that wasn't his fault. However, her debt was paid and her training complete. There was nothing that could stop her from becoming a warrior now and Riverclan needed them more than ever. "Coldpaw. Your punishment for your rebellious actions is over and is your time to be a warrior since Minnowslip has confirmed me that you are ready to undertake your ceremony. If you believe this to be true, step forward now for it to begin."

Coldpaw got up and stept forward, ofcourse he had to bring that up about Spotfur... She wanted to say something but keept quiet as she looked up at Jaystar her gaze as cold as usal. She heard a lone bird singing quietly in the distance as she waited for the cermony to continue, soon she'd be a warrior.

Meeting her gaze with inquisitive, serious eyes, the leader analyzed the apprentice reactions and movements so he could be sure if it was her time to be a warrior indeed. However, despite his doubts, the she-cat did as she was told obediently without complaining and during the past weeks, she had shown a good behaviour, even after Hillfire was exiled... he would still keep an eye on her, though. A cat who sympathized with a traitor had to be kept under watch. "I, Jaystar, leader of Riverclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn, Coldpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" He mewed, his feathery tail high.

She held her head high as she looked up at the leader, she realized that he still had a hard time trusting her completly after how she had behaved but she didn't care, she knew that there were many other cats in the clan who had thought like her. She nodded slowly as she answerd "I do".

"Then, by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. From this day forth, you will be known to all as Coldgaze. Traditions say that you must hold a silent vigil while you patrol outside to protect the camp but under the current circumstances, no young warrior can't risk being left alone in the forest at night. You will hold your vigil here in the camp, young warrior. But for now, we celebrate." He mewed, his words not only directed to the newly named warrior but to the whole clan as well. Riverclan had plenty of warriors, more than most of the clans, yet right now they were needed if they wanted to survive what Lichenmask had been preparing for the clans. His cats had to be defeated for the sake of the whole forest... for the sake of all the cats who had tainted blood with no fault...

She let out a purr of staticfaction, finally she's a warrior of Riverclan! She looked around at the clan with a smile, the only thing that botherd her was that she had to keep quiet during her vigil she thought it was stupid but fine whatever. Coldgaze... She loved the name it, she felt like it suited her.
