New Beginnings (*Open)

"Great job," Nutfur praised when Pantherkit managed to pounce on her tail. His small kit teeth hardly hurt at all when he took hold of it in his mouth and paraded it around. Looked like he knew exactly what a warrior would do with their catch. At least, what a proud young warrior would do with their catch. Whether he grew up to be cocky or polite, she didn't really care. While she hoped he would become a polite cat, she would love him either way.When he pulled her tail a little past where it ended, she winced slightly in pain.  Sending Spotfur a look that was both amused and exasperated, she turned around and looked at the kit. All annoyance had dropped from her mind, and it took a lot not to laugh. He was simply too adorable."You did great, you'll be ctaching fish in no time once you're an apprentice."

Spotfur couldn't help smiling. "I hope you get a good mentor in five moons."

Pantherkit paused. "Why do I need to wait five WHOLE moons? I bet I'll be ready in three!"
He then spotted his own bushy tail and proceeded to chase it, amber eyes bright with curiosity, before he caught it, clamped down on it, and yelped in pain, jumping into the air.
"Why is everything attached to something?" he complained.

"I FINALLY catch it, and all I get is a bit of pain? What a ripoff."

"Well, it is your own tail, silly Pantherkit. Not everything is attached to something, but a lot of things are. You just have to figure out what is and isn't," Nutfur explained, hardly trying to keep the amusement from her tone. The pleasant rumble in her voice was not common for her, but being a mother made her happy. It wasn't like she would consider being a permanent queen now with Spotfur in the elder's den, but it was a joy that she would miss when Pantherkit became an apprentice. "You need to wait five moons because you are so tiny that mice could hunt you instead of you hunting them. But the time will go by so fast that you're a big six moon old kit who is ready to become an apprentice." Whiskers twitching, she bent down and licked down the kit's fur, his chase seeming to have ruffled it. What a silly little tom. Someday soon he would become more mature, but she hoped that even through growing up, he wouldn't lose his ability to make her smile and laugh.

Spotfur purred, then pointed his tail at the ground nearby. "Look, that caterpillar isn't attached to anything."

Pantherkit shook, ruffling his fur up again, before stalking up to the caterpillar and pouncing on it. He bit where it's neck would be, then observed his catch. (A caterpillar, for him, is comparable in size to a small mouse for an adult cat. Ya won't be able to bite caterpillar necks forever, Panther.)

"It's fat. Are you able to eat caterpillars? Or does only ShadowClan do that?"

OOC: ahhhh Okay I guess we can say Hickorykit was sleeping.

Hickorykit finally woke up, yawning and stretching. Slowly got to his paws and glanced around the nursery. Where did Nutfur and Pantherkit go?
He almost forgot where the entrance to the nursery was, but eventually found his way out and spotted his family, bounding to them. ”Nutfur! Pantherkit! I found you!” He purred. He realized there was another cat standing with them, and turned to look at the three legged cat. ”Hello... who are you?”

"You can eat it, but they don't taste very good," Nutfur said in response to Pantherkit's question. Hearing another voice behind her, she saw that her other son, Hickorykit, had finally woken up. Smiling, she watched what his reaction to seeing Spotfur would be. With a start, she realized tha he wouldn't even know he he was yet. That was a problem. "Good morning Hickorykit, this is your father, Spotfur."

Spotfur smiled. "Hickorykit. Hello." His second kit was also a beautiful thing, a tabby like his brother. "You know, you look a lot like my (NPC) father."

Out of nowhere, Pantherkit pounced on Hickorykit, rolling him to the ground. "Our dad is really cool! He lost his leg defending the Clan from a rouge! It took you so long to wake up, but now there is a whole lot more space to play!"
He swatted at his brother playfully.
"Grr, I'm a rouge! Surrender your territory or die!"

Hickorykit gazed at his father curiously, warmth showing in his eyes. He squealed as he was pushed to the ground, and looked up at his brother, angrily but playfully. He glanced at Spotfur for a moment. ”How cool!” he mewed. He wanted to be just like his father! But he squeaked again as Pantherkit sent a paw at him. Rouge? Haha! Now is my chance! he thought playfully.
He swatted back at his brother and pushed him over so they were now both laying on their sides.

"How adorable," Nutfur purred to Spotfur, shaking her head slightly in amusement as she watched Pantherkit and Hickorykit play together. They really were everything she could have asked for. When they become warriors, they would probably stop seeing the fun in practicing battle moves and pretending to be evil rogues. Kithood was so precious, and she wished she could keep them as innocent little kits forever. But then she would have to stay in the nursery for longer, and never have the joy of watching their warrior ceremonies. Perhaps life worked the way it did for a reason. Questioning it wouldn't change a thing about it anyway. As she watched the two kits play with each other, a smile lit up her face. Life could so good at times.

Spotfur wanted to correct the toms. No, he'd lost it defending their deputy from a Clanmate. But that clanmate was now a danger to all the clans, and exiled as a rogue. Spotfur smiled and nodded at Nutfur, proud of his fierce kits. "They're beautiful like you, and fierce like my mother." He murmured happily.

Pantherkit, refusing to be pushed down for long, sprang to his paws and launched another attack on his brother. "Grr! Shade demands your territory, and I'm here to take it!"
He swatted at Hickorykit's ears, all, of course, in fun.

OOC: Hickorykit and Pantherkit are perfect for each other XD As panther spirals into evilness (won't start until he's at least an apprentice), Hickorykit will probably be the one cat he would never do anything to harm.
