New Beginnings Open [Birth Topic]

Ooc: Once Pepper and Scorchfrost arrive at the barn we should be fine. You can comment after that. Just make sure the main people can get a post in, this is plot driven.

Pepper didn't have the option of climbing over this time, she had to find a broken part of the fence to get to her mate. The she-cat had wanted to see Scorchfrost again with the time of her kitting coming closer and closer. She did the usual thing, hiding until she could spot the tom and then getting his attention. Ussually, she didn't have to get his attention, he would be racing to greet her before she had the chance.

Scorchfrost's ears were constantly twitching anxiously these days, awaiting the arrival of his mate's kits... He had a few names all sorted out already, provided at least some of them looked like their mother. He spotted a pair of emerald eyes gleaming through the fence. He gingerly padded over to Pepper, quietly licking her nose. "I've been missing you already... All of you," he whispered, ducking to Pepper's swollen belly, referencing his kits. "Do you think there'll be any she-kits? Maybe they'll even be as beautiful as you..." he hummed. His eyes met hers. "I'm so excited!"

Pepper chuckled and nuzzled his cheek. "I've missed you as well, she purred at the thought of how the kit's kept her up at night. "You're always going on about me.. I was hoping some of them will turn out to be little versions of their father." She mewed, anxiety and excitement in her eyes. "I hope everything goes fine.." She mewed. "Living in the a twolegplace isn't at all like living in the barn.." The queen sighed, licking his cheek as she shifted her weight.

A pang of guilt hit Scorchfrost's stomach. "You know, I could start bringing you meals... With kits in twolegplace... Food must not come easy." He nudged her cheek, guiding her to the barn. "It's much more comfortable in here, you should really lay down, especially with kits on the way..." The tom rambled on. He was a nervous wreck, he didn't know how Thinstripe managed on her own. "...ThunderClan won't mind all that much, after all, this was your home first."

She shook her head, leaning against her mate as they moved to the barn. "I'll be fine. Care for your clan, I don't want you hurt there, it's dangerous." She heasitated. "Do you um.. Is it better if I didn't act like we were mates? Last time you were afraid of what your clan would think." She asked, looking at the worn out barn.

Scorchfrost sucked in a breath. He didn't know what to say. "For now, I think it'll be safe to stay under the radar. I'll try to touch on it with Frozenflame... he's reasonable, and he can probably do something with Darkstar. I won't let our kits suffer, I swear on it." As they entered the barn, he shuffled some hay around in his nest to make a comfortable spot for Pepper. He mewed for her to come lay down.

Pepper nodded, reluctantly moving to stand fully on her own without leaning into the comfort of her mate. "With a father like you, how could they suffer?" She said quietlunder her breath to ensure only he heard. She let him shuffle the hay and when he was finished, she mewed a thanks and allowed herself to rest. "Anything interesting happen recently?" She asked. The small talk wasn't ideal but, she couldn't talk about how they're going to be parents with everyone around.

The tom sat down across from her, pawing at the hay absent-mindedly. "A warrior pretty much returned from the dead. Sunpelt is his name: he went missing, but he found his way home. The twolegs took him, I think. I received an apprentice as well. That one and his sister... they're interesting characters." His whiskers twitched in amusement. He wondered what his kits would be like. Scorchfrost hoped there were at least three. He liked the name Morningkit very much, and Thinkit would be a nice nod to his mother... he shook his head. He could almost hear Thinstripe mumbling from StarClan. She wouldn't want him to waste a kit's name on her. The she-cat would've wanted him to show some independence. She wasn't around to have his back anymore.

Pepper listened kneading the hay nest with her paws. "That's good, it must be nice to see his turn up alright." She tensed up, a gasp escaped her as she was hit with a sharp pain. The she-cat shut her eyes and tried to calm her breathing again. "Scorchfrost..." Was all she said after a moment and another pain.

IC: Dreamleaf sat in the barn with her small stock of herbs. Sadness clouded her eyes as she looked at the pathetic supplies. What would happen if more cats were injured? She pulsing be able to help much. She's have to really search for herbs now. Dreamleaf's ears perked up when she heard cats approaching outside the barn. Who'd be out at this time?

Scorchfrost's eyes widened. "I'm here, Pepper," he whispered, "I'm right here... Dreamleaf, come quick!" The tom didn't know what to do in this situation, it was best to bring Dreamleaf over before something bad happened.

Dreamleaf arose and narrowed her eyes. Scorchfrost? Dreamleaf hurried out of the barn to nearly crash into Scorchfrost and Pepper. The medicine Cat looked at them briefly. Kitting. She could almost smell it in the air.
"Come in quick," Dreamlead beckoned and entered the barn again. She laid out the herbs that she'd need, a stick and wet miss-ball.

Tulipheart saw the rouge queen between struggling with her remaining two kits

Blizzardpaw groaned a bit, the noise waking her It’s still so dark outside, what could…uh? She opened her eyes and raised her head when she heard Scorchfrost’s voice. She stood up and stretched a bit, wondering if he was training with Sedgepaw at this hour and if she could join them, she, however, was surprised when she found him with Pepper and Dreamleaf, she didn’t know he had a mate…then again she never asked, so probably it was her fault. She felt uneasy and didn’t know what to do but watch. Should she ask if she could help? Should she go and look for Stonepaw instead?

Gentlenose stirred in her nest to see Blizzardpaw awake. What was she doing up so late? Gentlenose got up, padding towards her daughter. It was only then that she heard voices, and noticed a few cats gathered around Pepper. Upon closer inspection, Gentlenose realized the she-cat was kitting. Was... Was Scorchfrost the father? Now that she thought about it, the tom had been acting a bit different lately. "Is there anything I can help with?" Gentlenose asked, her good nature persuading her to help in some way.
