Newcomer {Closed}

The towering human constructions cast their shadows into the alleyway. Chase walked at a leisurely pace, as if she had all the time in the world. Every now and then, she would spare Dante a glance. The last time she had done so, he was still keeping up. He was small for his age and weak from hunger. She had to constantly remind herself not to speed up. Absently, she wondered how fast he would be able to walk in that state. She was really bringing him back to the Regime's camp. What kind of facial expression would Shade make upon seeing the newcomer? The corners of her mouth curled up in a curious smile, but the smile didn't quite reach her eyes. Nevertheless, she would have to be careful. While she had a few guesses to Shade's purposes, she didn't know enough about him.

The fluffy rogue emerged from the alley into a street walked with multiple humans. As per usual at this time of the morning, few of them paid her any attention. The strange creatures seemed too occupied by other things, in a rush to get to their destination for the day. Cars thundered by in ferocious force. As a rogue who had wandered many such human settlements, Chase was already used to such a scene. Sticking to the side of the sidewalk farthest from the road, she casually made her way down the street with Dante in tow. Finally, she turned in to yet another alley. "We're here." She stated. At the end of the alley was the familiar dumpster that Shade liked to give his announcements from. Her approach had roused the attention of the other rogues, and a few glanced over. This was the Regime's makeshift camp. Just as she had expected, Shade was there as well. The tom's dark brown tabby pelt was easily picked out from the other cats'. "Good morning," She mewed cheerfully, "I've brought something to show you."

Dante had to make sure to keep away from the humans stange paws so the wouldn't step on him, he had only seen these strange creatures a few times before but he had realized that some might try to take you and had always keep his distance from them. He let out a snarl as one of the humans almost stepped on his tail by accident.

The young kit looked around in the ally as the rouge told him that they where there, he glanced around at the other cats he could see, mabye this hadn't been a good idea. No, he couldn't think like that, he quickly raised his head and trotted after Chase. He looked at the dark brown tabby that the she-cat spook too, guessing that he was the leader.

Shade looked up from the rat he was tearing into at Chase's mew, and he almost did a double-take at the kit that stood next to her. His eyes narrowed suspiciously, but he wasn't about to immediately deny the kit refuge. He had tried using force rather than reasoning to find himself a place within the Regime before, and that didn't work at all. He couldn't lose their respect, so he had to humor her, as irksome as it may be. "Where did you find him?"

The Regime leader clearly hadn't expected her to return with company. As she met the dark tabby's amber gaze, Chase kept her expression vaguely neutral, with just the faintest hints of a smile at her maw. His surprise was understandable. She hadn't expected herself to bring Dante back either. Was it pity she felt for the young tom? It was hard to tell. If she had to say, it was probably part of the reason. However, the other reason was boredom. Yes, she was bored. Life could be pretty dreary, and she was growing tired of it. There was more to life than simply trying to survive. Wasn't boredom the word for that? Perhaps it was, and perhaps it wasn't. She was searching for something to add more substance to this uninteresting, monochrome world of hers. It would be interesting to teach a young cat. What did the clan cats call it? An apprentice. Yes, it would be fun to have an "apprentice." Compared to some of the other rogues, she was surviving pretty well in this place. One extra mouth to temporarily feed would not increase her workload by much. Of course, before all that could come to pass, she had to convince Shade to take him in.

"In one of the alleys, leaning against a dumpster." She informed Shade. "His mother was killed. The father is, let's just say, out of the picture. With no family left, it'll be hard for him to survive alone. He needs somewhere to stay, don't you think?"

Shade nodded slowly as Chase explained the situation, his gaze never leaving the young tom at the older she-cat's side. After some consideration, he finally spoke. "If he's going to live here, he's going to learn to hunt and fight. I will not have any free-loaders living in the Regime. Until he is six moons old, he will train with my kits and get first pick off the fresh-kill pile. After that, you will teach him what I teach you. You want to make sure he can protect himself from those greedy Clan cats I hope." With a dismissive twitch of his tail, he padded over to his rat to resume eating it.

Dante looked up at Chase "That means I can stay!" he purred happly. He looked around camp, it didn't look like much but atleast it was a place he could call home, where he could survive. And most importantly, he would learn how to fight, how he would be able to kill his father.

His face were slowly turning a grin as his mind slowly started to drift of, thinking about what ways would cause the most pain possible to his sad excuse for a father. One thing was for sure, once he where done with him he would leave him to the crows, because that was all he was, crowfood and barely even that. His eyes where filled with hatred for the tom that had ended his mothers life, he would make sure that he would feel as much pain as he deserved and more. Oh just you wait father" he mumbled quietly for himself.
