A quick patrol (closed)

Sitting by the camp entrance, Daisyflame listened to the almost completely silent evening air. A breeze ruffled the tom's sleek white and ginger coat, and he watched as it ruffled the crisp leaves above in the trees. Hopefully some cat would bring him some company and join him on a patrol.

Frostpaw sat near the apprentice's den. He was bored and was itching to practice something. He saw Daisyflame sitting near the camp entrance. Maybe he'll take him out hunting. He'd quickly pad up to him. "Hi Daisyflame. Are you waiting to patrol?" He wanted to know if he was going out on a patrol before he asked if he could come.

OOC: daisy is a dude btw ;)

IC: Hearing pawsteps approaching, Daisyflame turned his head to see Frostpaw. "I am," he replied with a nod and a smile. "And I was just about to leave. Ready to go?" the warrior mewed and stood up, giving his front legs a stretch.

OOC: Ach! Sorry!

Frostpaw had been wanting to go on a hunting patrol lately. Today was the day! He nodded to the warrior. "I'm ready." He flicked his fluffy white tail, ready for the patrol ahead. He wondered what he might catch, a frog? Maybe a vole or something if he was lucky.

Pumapaw was bored out of her mind. Her general clan duties, seemed so boring lately. The russet she-cat was stalking around the camp grouchily, when she heard Daisyflame. Ears pricked, she padded over to the two toms. "Are you going on a patrol?" she mewed eyes glancing between the two toms"I'm itching to get out of camp."

"Yes, we were just leaving. Let's go," Daisyflame mewed with a smile, and with that, the tom lead the two apprentices out of camp and into the territory.

After not too long of walking, the trio arrived near what he presumed to be around the center of ShadowClan's territory. "We're going to do some hunting, so let's split up," he mewed to Frostpaw and Pumapaw. With that, the tom silently stalked his way through the marshy land until he caught sight of a plump frog. Crouching down, he stalked towards the prey, his bushy tail low to the ground. Waiting a few moments, he pounced, and to his luck, he landed square on the frog, and quickly killed it with a swift bite. So far, the patrol was a success.

'Hunting Dice' : 7

Frostpaw bounded after the warrior, excited to finally be on a hunting patrol without his mentor. He could show others how good he was at hunting! Frostpaw loved the scent of the forest, especially Shadowclan territory. Not that he had gone to any other territory though.

Frostpaw soon split off from the group as Daisyflame said to split up to catch more prey. He had lowered his body and stalked through the pine needles. He scented the humid air, he hated Green-leaf. His eyes lit up as he finally scented a mouse scuttling along the base of a tree. He tried to focus as much as he could while allowing himself to stay calm. If he could catch prey without his mentor that would be exciting. He slowly exhaled his breath, and pounced on the mouse. It didn't even see him coming as he launched himself at it, dispatching it in one swift bite to the neck. He smiled at himself and buried the mouse, there was still more prey to catch.

At the tom's word, Pumapaw eagerly bounced away from the group. Finally, she was free! Her amber eyes scouted over the marsh, now unsure of what she should do. Well, I have to find prey first. Don't I? The russet apprentice opened her maw, testing the air, while her ears swivelled in an attempt to hear the rustle of a leaf or the snap of a branch. Despite using her other senses more, it was a flash of brown caught her eye.

Pumapaw, dropped into a crouch and dashed forward, eyes following the creatures tail. Unfortunately for the young cat, she didn't notice the raccoon. Pumapaw stumbled right into it, the angry creature creature round instantly. Pumapaw's amber eyes widened in fear and her ears were flat against her skull as she stepped backwards. Quickly, she glanced backward for her patrol looking for some form of help. Realising she'd have to fend it off until they arrived, she rounded on it, gaze hardened.

A growl tore from Pumapaw's throat, and she leapt at the grey vermin, claws outstretched. The she-cat's weight caught the raccoon off balance and it toppled backwards, letting out a surprised shriek. Thinking back to her battle with the SkyClan apprentice, Pumapaw placed her weight over the animal and dug her needle like claws into its shoulder. It was a lot larger than her, but she'd have to hold in untilthe others got to her. "Daisyflame, Frostpaw!" she yowled keeping her paws firmly on the raccoon. "I ran into a raccoon. I've got it pinned, but I don't know how long I can hold it."

IC: Hearing Pumapaw's yowl, Daisyflame rushed over to where the apprentice was, and just as she'd said, she had a raccoon pinned, but it was quickly figuring out that it was stronger than the apprentice. Acting fast, the warrior lunged at the mangy predator, claws extended and teeth bared. Letting out a battle yowl, the white and ginger tom lashed his front paws at the raccoon before coming back down on all fours.

Daisyflame used Front Paw Strike, causing 9 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Frostpaw heard the yowls of his fellow apprentice and he too ran back as fast as he could. He hoped Pumapaw was alright as his paws thundered towards the action. As Pumapaw had said she had the Raccoon pinned down. He unsheathed his claws as he saw the Raccoon being attacked by Daisyflame as well. As he was approaching he saw the Raccoon had been knocked on it's back and was struggling to get up. He dashed forwards quickly, not wishing to miss an opportunity to strike the animal attacking his clan-mates. He snarled at the Raccoon as he raked his claws down the Raccoon's belly and darted back. Getting hit by this animal could really hurt an apprentice like himself.

The raccoon screamed and writhed angrily, as the cats clawed at its soft belly. Its clawed paws kicked up at Pumapaw, sending her hurtling into a tree, however, she quickly gained her composure and dashed towards the grey furred mammal. The raccoons eyes darted between the hissing cats. It knew that it was outnumbered. With a hiss, it raked its claws along Pumapaw's muzzle and took off.

The impact shocked Pumapaw, and she barely had time to realise what was happening. Her ears rang and her head spun, but she managed to make out the form of the raccoon lumbering angrily towards her. Panic washed over the russet apprentice. Her amber eyes widened with fear as it slowly made its way towards her, mouth foaming.

Pumapaw glanced around, searching for something that would give her the upper hand. Seeing nothing, she'd guess she'd just have to intimidate it. Pumapaw sprinted towards it, every bound a little unbalanced, but she was trying her best. The raccoon, scared backed up, cornered by the cats. Fear was evident in the creature's eyes and Pumapaw took this as a sign to step forward. The feral creature didn't think so, however.

The blow hit the young cat hard, tearing into the flesh around her face. The she-cat let out an agonising yowl. Blood caked her face and she was struggling to see. However, she managed to hear the raccoon's footsteps as it fled. The apprentice shook her head attempting to rid herself of the constant ringing or the temporary blindness. "Am i alright?" she mewed, fear evident in Pumapaw's trembling voice.

Everything happened so fast. They seemed to have had the advantage over the raccoon, but things quickly took a turn for the worst as it struck Pumapaw down. Racing towards the beast, Daisyflame let out an angry yowl and rearing up on his hind legs, slashed at the raccoon's throat. Letting out one last screech of anger and agony, it stumbled backwards, most likely choking on its own blood. Falling down with a thud, just like that, the battle was over.

Running over to Pumapaw, the warrior skidded to a halt, heart racing and flank heaving from the adrenaline. "Are you alright?" he huffed towards Pumapaw. He wished that he was able to see how bad her wounds really were, but it was nearly impossible from the blood that was covering her face.
