[OPEN] Smooth Moves

The sun had just set only minutes ago when Berry arrived in the dark alleys of Twolegplace. The alleys were hidden in long, dark shadows that grew darker by the second. On the main small thunderpaths there were harsh, glaring lights, but Berry made a quick turn into the alleys which smothered the light more with each step. There were far too many monsters and twolegs by the thunderpaths, and despite the company she could encounter in the alleys they were still safer than thunderpaths.

The white-and-brown tabby she-cat kept closed to the wall, her eyes wide and alert, ears perked and attentive. She slipped soundlessly behind trash cans, under boxes, and through the alleys through twists and turns she knew she'd never remember. The good thing about the dark alleys was that they all had to let out somewhere. At least, that had been her usual experience.

Berry realized her error as she came face-to-face with her first dead end: nothing but brick wall stretched up before her. "Oh, rats," the she-cat hissed to herself. Her tabby tail thrashed as she weighed her options. A small skittering sound caught her ear and she whipped around in hopes of discovering a snack.

Mitéra grinned her evil grin. Ares had favored her today. She thanked the gods for this luck. She was downwind of this... Intruder, not to mention she was covered by the Shadows. She rose from the dark spot she was hiding in and spoke. "You are trespassing on territory of the Regime. State your business, or die. And don't even think about attacking me. My allies are lying near here, and will join me in battle. So once again. State your purpose."

Mitéra sighed. "You strays and your faulty noses." She said, despite having an actually faulty nose herself. "I need to keep patrolling our borders so you're lucky." She smiled at the cat. "But don't think that means you can go free. My mate Patéras will escort you to our leader. He will decide your fate." She began to leave, but then turned around with a serious face, unlike her normal taunting self. "Oh and one more thing." Mitéra's eyes glinted in the light of the last flickering street lamp. "If dare so much as scratch my Patéras, I will hunt you down, rip you limp from limb, and give you most horrible and slow death you could ever imagine." Then she smiled again. "Have fun!" And with that, she walked away.

Patéras leaped down the Upwalker's fire escape. "C'mon." He said. "You're coming with me."
