Battle Moves

Shallowpaw layed in the shade of camp, his tail flicking lazily. He was staring at a group of apprentices and their mentors. Border patrol? No, too boring. Hunting? Did that already. Fighting..perfect! "Hey!" he called to the group. "Wanna practice moves?"

"Has anybody seen Lilypaw?" Midnightsky asked the group of cats.

Shallowpaw shook his head. "Not me. Sorry," he told the warrior.

"Oh dear... We were supposed to have our battle training today."

Lilypaw opened her sleepy eyes at the sound of a cat who called her name. The young apprentice stood, having a little stretch until the she-cat realised where she was. The Apprentices' Den. Oh no... this can't be happening! I'm late! Lilypaw gasped, and with no hesitation, the she-cat ran outside of the Apprentices' Den until she spotted her mentor, Midnightsky. "I'm so sorry i'm late!" she mewed disappointingly, looking down at her white paws. "I'll never be late again!" Lilypaw mewed with pride with a small glance at Shallowpaw, then forcing her eyes to meet the warrior's. Pushing away bad thoughts of her first actions towards her mentor, Lilypaw let out a small smirk, hoping for forgiveness.

"Did you sleep well? Come on, we have battle training to do.  Shallowpaw, do you want to help?" He asked the two apprentices.

Lilypaw nodded at Midnightsky's question. "I'm ready!" she mewed in excitement. Yes, she is still getting used to to the life of a RiverClan apprentice, but she is expected to work hard to become a fine warrior to her Clan. That is what she thought, and she would never give up on her tasks, determined to make her mentor proud. The she-cat looked at Shallowpaw, waiting for the tom's decision.

"Sure!" Shallowpaw meowed.

"Alright. Positions you two." He called to the two.

Shallowpaw crouched at the end of the area and waited for Lilypaw to do the same.

Lilypaw was quite new to this, as she's never done battle training before. Watching Shallowpaw crouch at the end of the area, Lilypaw suspected that she should do the same. Ok, don't mess up, not too much... I am a beginner, after all! The she-cat padded to the other end, facing Shallowpaw. Feeling a bit nervous, Lilypaw crouched, but hesitated a bit. Heh, maybe, this shouldn't be too hard!

"Alright, I'm going to circle you, and you do the same." he informed his Denmate.

"Ok," Lilypaw mewed, as she slowly padded forward to begin circling around with Shallowpaw in sync. It was a strange feeling for the apprentice, as she was nervous yet excited at the same time.

"Okay, now try running at me and knock me over with full force." he purred. This cat was doing good so far.
