Why did birds sing? Was it simply to bless all other creatures with their beautiful notes? Or was it some sort of way of those gorgeous winged creatures communicating? Sometimes Clearpaw wished he had Shrikepaw's name, or some other lovely bird like that to be his namesake. Clear was pretty, but it didn't go well with kit or paw. And there was no splendid plant or creature that he could associate with due to his name. Maybe that was for the best. Now he could think of himself relating to every creature that held clarity. In some ways, that was even better. No species could be entirely good, just like they couldn't be entirely bad either. Cat were a great example of that. Tinylegs and himself were the best examples he could think of as good cats who wanted the world to be a better place, but there was also cats like Sedgestrike who just seemed to violent and brash to be good cats in the long run. Violence was the main contributor to evil, he believed. Everyone would appreciate everything a lot more if they stopped arguing and wasting time on battle. Why was fighting even needed? Nothing in his life so far couldn't be settled by calm conversation. Though the cats who liked violence probably wouldn't be able to be calmly talked to. That was the root of the problem. Now they had to ruin herbs by placing them on wounds. It seemed unfair to the plants. Every flower and shrub held so much life and beauty, letting out enticing scents and pleasuring his eyes with their miraculous color and design. Somehow, on his walk from camp to the Fallen Oak with Tawneyfur, his thoughts had traveled from bird's singing to the allure of flowers and spices. Not much of a surprise, that's where his thoughts usually ended up. Upon reaching the downed tree, he quickly marked the border and then looked up at the warrior he was patrolling with, waiting for further instruction. That's when he saw them.
"Wow, who are those cats?" Clearpaw breathed, looking at the two ThunderClanners padding towards them. One was a cat that looked a little bit like him, save for her tabby stripes. Quite pretty, if he said so himself, but not exactly what he would call beautiful. Well, she was so in a sense that her limbs moved gracefully and that she was just a living cat to begin with, but nothing about her appearance particularly spoke to him. Much like he himself was like. The other one, on a different paw, was an entirely different story. His fur stuck out like a rat, shabby and ragged, and his legs and tail were uniquely thin. Nothing short of extraordinary. Never had he seen a cat that looked both strong and weak simultaneously like this before. A cat that looked like he could be friendly, while still intimidating. Different, but in a great way. Like Tinylegs. Forgetting about Tawneyfur and the other ThunderClanner, he accidentally stepped a few steps over the border in a subconscious effort to get a better look at the special tom.

Boarpaw let out a frusturated sigh, shaking his pelt out... quite literally. As if he couldn't look any stranger, here he was molting what little fur he had. He'd be hairless soon if StarClan didn't give him and mercy. He sniffed around, blooming ferns catching his eye the most. His rat-like tail flicked and he left it alone before checking for any good moss to take back home when they were done. He had been an apprentice for a long time despite his age. Hopefully, he would become a warrior soon. He had to make Sharptooth and Featherheart proud. Both cats he cared for and held high in his mind. Purring, he thought of getting to stay in the same den as them. Hearing a cat's meow, he turned his focus back on the task, marking the border. He was surprised to find an apprentice on their side, padding closer. Perhaps he didn't notice... He seemed friendly enough. They could just make sure he went back, he hadn't done anything yet. Boarpaw wasn't too keen on taking the DawnClan way out of this and attack him right away. "Careful there, you're crossing our border."

Violetfall watched Boarpaw carefully as he trudged along the border towards the SkyClan apprentice. She padded forward slowly as the apprentices cautiously exchanged words, the ThunderClan apprentice politely reminding the other of the border he was clearly crossing. Inside, the grey warrior swelled with pride. Although Boarpaw was a strange cat, it pleased her to see that he was still kind and loyal through his struggles. ThunderClan needed more warriors like him. But she knew that even in being kind, there was room for strictness.

"SkyClanner. Watch your step, you're on ThunderClan territory." she paused, to let her words sink in. "We do not tolerate trespassers. Back away from the border, please." She gazed at the SkyClan warrior behind the apprentice, hoping with all her might that this small incident could be resolved without a fight.

Tawneyfur moved along beside Clearpaw.  She volunteered to take him out on a border patrol and maybe even catch a piece of prey or two.  The small tortoiseshell she-cat looked away for a few heartbeats, then her attention was drawn back to the apprentice when he asked Wow, who are those cats?.  Immediately Tawneyfur's guard was up, but realized Clearpaw had stepped across the border. "Clearpaw, get back here!  She snapped at the apprentice, not because she was mad, but because if the two ThunderClan cats had come looking for a fight this situation would be the perfect opportunity to start one.  The warrior flicked her ears forward to listen to what the ThunderClan warrior and apprentice were saying.  It seemed as though they were being civil enough, and so Tawneyfur waited for Clearpaw to join her.

ooc: I'm so sorry this took so long!

"I'm sorry for crossing the border, but I was interested. Do most ThunderClanners look like this?" His voice held a serious curiosity, so genuine that it almost seemed sarcastic, even though it was far from it. Subconsciously, Clearpaw took another step forward, before remembering that was exactly what he wasn't supposed to do. Hastily trotting backwards into SkyClan territory, he never took his eyes off the thin furred tom. Like a mouse, but cat sized, elegant and graceful. Reminded him of a meadow, with grass, trees, prey, and even the bright sun that his eyes held. Something about him just held something that begged him to learn how such an amazing cat could exist, and if there were more of them. While SkyClan held beautiful territory and his family and friends, did ThunderClan hold these type of cats? Wonder filled his forest green eyes as he stepped closer to the border, toes right on the scent markers, his eyes soaking in the tom's appearance.

"Um... No. You shouldn't cross the border unless it's important." Boarpaw meowed, fidgeting uncomfortably as the focus was brought on the appearance he grew so nervous about. He looked to Violetfall for assistance as he shifted his weight on his paws. Why did he have to get stuck with this body? It caused so many problems for him and now it was making other cats trespass on their territory! Oh, StarClan this was such a bother...

Who is going to start the fight? They're all acting so civil :? ))

ooc: i totally died on y'all im so sorry ;;

Violetfall sighed. She knew this bothersome apprentice wouldn't stop with the questions, and he was clearly making Boarpaw uncomfortable. If I start this fight, am I still a good Clan cat? This has happened so many times before... But in the end, she knew it was her job to defend her territory and her Clanmates, and whether he meant it or not, this SkyClanner was, in a way, threatening Boarpaw.

She met Boarpaw's gaze, and nodded slightly, indicating what she was about to do. Letting out a brief sigh, she charged towards the SkyClan warrior, who was doing nothing to stop her apprentice from bothering them. She sprang onto the other she-cat, pinning her to the ground and raking her pelt with her claws. "ThunderClan does not tolerate tresspassers," she hissed, for what felt like the millionth time. "Please learn to keep your apprentices under control."

Violetfall used Leap-and-Hold on Tawneyfur, dealing 9 damage and costing 10 stamina. Tawneyfur is stunned for 1 turn.
