Leopardkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath Jaggedrock for a Clan meeting!" Scorchfang yowled once he leaped up to the top of the tallest point in camp.

As the large tom had grown older these past few moons, he had grown more and more envious of the other cats having their ceremonies. The kits he had previously shared a den with were moving ahead of him to become warriors before he was, and that was something he couldn't have. How could he prove he could be the best warrior ever if he wasn't even an apprentice? So today, when he heard Scorchfang's familiar yowl that signified another apprentice ceremony, one thing was different, it was his turn. It was his time to become an apprentice. So he stepped out of the nursery, his large paws carrying him over to the clearing and he awaited the ceremony to begin.

"Leopardkit, step forward." Scorchfang meowed to the rather large kit, waiting for him to do as he was told before continuing on with the ceremony. "Leopardkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Leopardpaw. I will be your mentor. As Liontail has completed his training, I am ready to take on a new apprentice. I’ll be sure to teach you all you need to know to grow into a strong and loyal ShadowClan cat." He leaped down and approached his new apprentice, touching noses together.

As the ceremony began, the tom tried his best to keep his excitement and pride at bay. Fidgeting slightly at first before he calmed himself down, he had to be serious about this. Stepping forward as he was told, his green eyes peering up at the deputy as he was given his new name and mentor. Though when his mentor was announced, he did his best to keep his jaw from dropping. The deputy was going to be his mentor? Now for sure he was going to be one of the best warriors ever. As Scorchfang leaped down to touch noses with the newly name Leopardpaw, the new apprentice was almost shaking with excitement, but also held himself in a strong stance of pride. He wasn't going to let his mentor down, he was going to be the best apprentice ever.
