Subject: Ivykit's Apprentice Ceremony Fri 10 Mar 2023 - 19:55
"All cats old enough to silently stalk in the shadows, please gather around for a Clan meeting!"
Things were slowly but surely returning to the way they ought to be, and a smile graced Leopardsun's face as she called her Clanmates together. It was time that they come together once again to celebrate one of their own.
Upon hearing the call the patched pelted she cat pushed her way out of the nursedy eager for her ceremony. Her whiskers twitched in excitement and her amber eyes beamed as she padded moving to sit down her fluffy tail wrapping around her paws quietly

Snowfoot was among the first warriors to arrive for the ceremony, her whiskers twitching in anticipation. Apprentice ceremonies were one of her favorite things, the joy of the kits nearly unmatched. She sat down quietly to the side, white-tipped tail flicking.

"Ivykit, please step forward."
Kits were almost always excited when they could tell it was close to their ceremony, Leopardsun had found. The excitement in Ivykit's expression made her purr with amusement, though it was more subdued than some others had been.
"You have reached the age of six moons and are ready to become an apprentice. From this day until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Ivypaw. Your mentor will be Moondancer- I trust she will pass all that she has learned onto you."
It felt strange, to be entrusting apprentices to her own kits. Hadn't they themselves been kits ready to be apprenticed, not so long ago? There was a slight sting of something like nostalgia, but her heart warmed as she recalled how grateful she was that so many of them were still with her. They weren't helpless kits any longer, but growing up so quickly right before her eyes.

Moondancer's ears pricked as her mother called the clan together for a meeting. It was probably just another apprentice ceremony, and she was always interested in seeing who her mother assigned to be mentors. Moondancer was a young warrior - one of Shadowclan's newest alongside her siblings, but she had yet to become a mentor, had yet to be selected to help train the next generation of Shadowclan warriors. She wasn't sure why, really, being such a skilled warrior any apprentice would be lucky to have Moondancer as a mentor. She had been the first of her siblings to become a warrior, surely they wouldn't receive the honor of an apprentice before her.
And then her name was called. Moondancer grinned up at the deputy, pale green eyes searching for the patchy-patterned Ivypaw's form at the front of the crowd. "Congratulations, Ivypaw!" Moondancer padded up to the newly-named apprentice with a warm smile. Leopardsun was smart. She knew that an apprentice would fare better under Moondancer's capable paws than someone else, after all.
"We'll begin training tonight." She added, gently touching noses with her apprentice.
