Playing alone (OPEN)

"Don't be scared, Streamkit!" Flowerkit mewed, ""It's not so bad!" She squeaked. She saw him stand there for a second before splashing him with water. She laughed for the first time. His face is priceless! Flowerkit thought.

Featherkit beamed slightly, and her eyes lit up, "Thank you!"
She cautiously padded to the brim of the calm pool. When she reached the edge, the water splashed against her paws. She crouched and dipped her paw in. It felt nice and cool against her pads.

Featherkit smiled to herself as she walked into the pool. Her paws touched the bottom, until she reached a deeper part. Featherkit gave a little yelp as she fell downwards, but she suddenly remembered Flowerkit's instructions. She swished her paws around, slowly getting a rythym, even though every now and again she sent and occasional splash.

Featherkit grinned a bit in amusement when Flowerkit splashed Streamkit in water. Maybe we can help to help him to see water isn't too bad?
She gave him an encouraging smile, "It really isn't too bad, a-and you can stay in the shallow part, if you want."

Flurrypaw's eyes widened in complete shock as her mentor picked her up like a kit. She lightly squirmed when she saw Dewshine was carrying her over to a shallow pool, whimpering softly. She was only just now getting used to water, and the older she-cat was about to force swimming upon her! "Dewshine! Dewshine, wait--!" she began to cry out, but was dropped into the pool before she could finish her plea. She squealed in fright, expecting to fall completely under the surface, and it took her a few seconds to register that she had plopped into a shallow pool, the water not even reaching up to her chest fur. Her fur grew hot with embarrassment at all the ruckus she had made, and she softly whimpered before slowly climbing out.

Dewshine chuckled softly as she padded over to where Flurrypaw sat after climbing back out.
"Flurrypaw?" She mewed softly, her blue eyes filled with soft concern that she might have hurt her apprentice. "Getting used to the water will be good for you. You'll be in the water a lot as a RiverClan warrior." Dewshine turned to look back at the kits playing in the pool. "Come, there's a lesson you can learn here." Dewshine ordered, brushing her tail across Flurrpaw's chest to attempt and turn her towards the pond once more as the silver she-cat padded back into the water and checked to ensure all the kits seemed to be doing alright. At Streamkit's hesitation, she gently nudged him.

"I'll be right here." She purred with soft encouragement and a gentle nudge. "I won't let any of you get hurt."

Featherkit paddled, with her legs moving in a repetitive pattern, while listening carefully to Dewshine. She was amazed and pleased at how calm and supportive she seemed, and how she kept and soft tone. I want to be like that! she thought.

She watched Flurrypaw with silent curiousity, her eyes gleaming in interest. The she-kit had never known that the apprentice was afraid of water. Featherkit thought that she was quite lucky to have a gentle and encouraging mentor.

Flurrypaw wanted nothing more than to tug away from her mentor and find somewhere to sit alone and dry herself off. But... she did have a point, she supposed. There really was no way to avoid water when a cat practically lived in it. She softly whimpered and turned back to the pool, then slowly slipped into it, gritting her teeth as chills of discomfort rippled through her spine.
