A stranger in the midst. (OPEN)

Artemis Odan had told him to head towards the forest and follow the thunderpath into the territory that had oaks, then to follow the cat scent up until a bramble barrier. Anatolios did not want to admit it, but he was lost. Anatolios felt unsure, like the wild cats of tales would leap out of the shadows and tear him apart. Fighting clan-cats was the last thing the tom wanted, his body scarred and battered, fresh scratches and bites making his pelt sting. Anatolios held back tears as he looked ahead, his jaws clenching as he choked back his cries, he shouldn't have abandoned Artemis Odan.

But it was on his order to run, rats had swarmed them from the trench as he led him to Thunderclan, but they were outnumbered. Even a large cat like Artemis Odan did not stand a chance, so he had run. Artemis screeched at him to flee as swarms of rats almost drowned him like a giant wave. He had done as told like a coward, he could have saved him but- Anatolios clenched his eyes shut. He had to find the Wildcats, had to tell them or Artemis Odan and his fate. 'Wildcats! Hello! I am Anatolios and I come from the east! I must tell you of the fate that has befallen Artemis Odan!" He screeched into the air, his fur bristled, all the new scents making it hard to decipher any cat scent... if there was any.

Lurking within the shadows of oncoming night, a fiery red creature looked from behind the bush. It's round amber eyes and bright orange fur stuck out like a sore thumb in the dark, and the only creature that couldn't pick him out must've been a fool, like the cat in front of him seemed to be. A loud, obnoxious one he was, seemingly rambling on about who knew what. All the fox saw was a meal, one that he wanted oh so badly. As he crept closer and closer, he could practically taste the cat. Running his tongue over his teeth, one large paw in front of the other... Just a little closer now...

In a quick dash, he darted out of the bushes, facing the cat who only came up to his shoulder in comparison. But he'd show no mercy. He slid to the side, watching intently as the cat stood frozen in horror. Chomping down on his hind leg, he heard a sickening crunch go through the air. He had not snapped a bone, but this was definitely going to hurt later... If the cat could manage to break free from his grasp.

Wisteriapool's thoughts had seemed to grab her by the neck and drag her out of camp. Her days had been filled with the same routine, but it wasn't a terrible one. She'd wake up, attend to her warrior duties, and then spend the rest of the day taking a walk or fawning over her brother's kits. It was something that she got accustomed to doing, and she actually did enjoy it. There was the smallest ghost of a smile on the ginger-and-white she-cat's muzzle as she made her way through the immense greenery and foliage that she called home. Usually, her walks were interrupted. Now, however, something had decided to occur. The warrior almost jumped straight out of her fur once she heard shouting in the distance. The voice was unfamiliar, but the name that had been mentioned was familiar. Artemis had been the cat that had come to comfort her and Featherheart right after Flickerpaw had been taken away. Had something happened to him?

Wisteriapool, letting her curiosity control her, headed towards the voice, but she paused when the strong, terrible scent of fox filled her nostrils. Oh, goodness. She had no idea who the cat was, but it would be awful if the fox killed or maimed the stranger. Plus, the fox was on her territory. If she didn't help this cat chase it off or kill it, who else would? Deciding to use the element of surprise, like she usually did due to her quiet nature, Wisteriapool charged toward the fox, spun around, and kicked it as harshly as she could using her hind legs.

The sound of a strange cat's voice immediately attracted Marshstorm's attention. Amber eyes narrowed towards where he heard the voice coming from and he bounded over a bush in his way to get to the voice quickly. The name Artemis was one he recognised as being important. He was a new cat that lingered around ThunderClan, but he was welcomed as an aide during the conflict of ThunderClan and RiverClan. The smell of fox however, was not. The tom's ears flattened as he caught the scent on the breeze in front of him. It was closer to the strange cat than he was, too close. Blood filled the air and he screeched a battle yowl as he barreled down on the bundle of red fur that he could finally see.

He glimpsed Wisteriapool in his furious attack, and avoided her with his blows, but he would see this fox gone as his heavy and sharp claws tore through the beast's fur. Teeth bared in a terrible snarl as his dark pelt lifted in threat.

Owlpaw was walking trough the forest just so she could be out of camp when she heard a voice of a tom trough the woods. She decided that she could better check it out and ruined over there only to find two of her classmates battling a fox! She did not hesitate and came to there aid hoping that she would not be yet another problem to think of fore the two warrior's

Anatolios had no time to process what was happening before a fox had it's cruel, filth-ridden jaws around his leg. A searing flash of pain flashed up to his spine as he collapsed, his jaws stretched wide in a silent scream. But soon, three Wildcats were throwing themselves at the red beast and Anatolios was struggling to process the situation before him. He supposed the tales were true then! Anatolios was filled with determination, their courage giving him some energy to push on. Claws unsheathing the tom twisted himself to place himself precariously underneath the fox, front paws and his one free hind-leg ripping at its chest and belly with a ferocity that the Wildcats before him seemed to lack.

Wincing in pain as several other cats leaped onto the rather young fox, he grimaced. All he wanted was to eat! What was so wrong with that?! He couldn't give up. He had to feed his family! He yowled when the first cat ripped into his belly, only letting go at that moment. Droplets of blood dripped from the rips in his stomach, but that wasn't going to stop him from fighting until he couldn't any longer. Pulling his lips back into a nasty snarl, he slid to the side, glaring at each of the cats as they glared back into his own amber eyes. Darting back towards the cat that he'd laid eyes on first, he easily caught hold of his scruff. He shook like a dog, flinging the cat to the side and daring any of the other cats to come towards him.

The heat of battle was never something that Wisteriapool enjoyed, but she supposed that there was no way she could avoid it for now. A sharp rush of relief ran through the she-cat's veins as Marshstorm and then Owlpaw leapt into the fight. The she-cat was glad that Owlpaw was there, but she also felt concerned for the apprentice's wellbeing. Wisteriapool couldn't help but watch with wide, yellow eyes as Anatolios was flung to the side by the large, russet creature in front of her. There was no time to check and see if the stranger was alright. She had to help Marshstorm and Owlpaw get rid of this fox, first. With a quiet hiss, the ginger-and-white feline darted forward and tackled the fox so that the others could get their own attacks in.

IC: Leafstorm had been hunting as usual when he first heard the hisses and screeches coming from nearby. The old tom's tufted ears twitched, and he dropped his prey, immediately darting through the undergrowth as quickly as his aging body could carry him. He had been reflecting on the disappearance of Sunpaw- she had gone missing around this time, stolen away by the dreaded Mist -but he was able to push it to the back of his mind once more. There were more urgent things to take care of. The tabby-striped warrior leapt over a fallen, charred tree- a remnant of Rockthorn's fire -and skidded headfirst into a large, russet-furred fox. With a yelp, the tom turned and drove his shoulder into the young fox's side, sending him flying. He wouldn't have managed it if it hadn't been young. It occurred to him, as he leaped clear of the fox, that there wouldn't be a need to fight if the fox wasn't inexperienced enough to continue battling.
It reminded Leafstorm of himself. The old tom nearly laughed but instead turned for a brief moment to see who had been fighting the fox before he had arrived. It wasn't just any group of Thunderclanners caught in this battle; Two of his family members were here, defending... Who was that?
A stranger was lying on the ground, clearly unconscious. The tall tom shook himself, bouncing on his paws. Although Leafstorm would've gladly abandoned the tom to protect his family, he knew that they wouldn't leave him to die. Wisteriapool had too much of Specklefang's heart in her, and Marshstorm was far too noble a cat to flee. The large tom gritted his teeth, stepping forward into the fox's path with his fluffy pelt bristling. It was only then that he noticed the russet-furred creature hadn't stirred.
"He's dead."

The dark tabby tom noticed Owlpaw as he plunged into the fray. He nodded with approval with the fox's pelt between his jaws as he ripped and tore at the beast. His heart leapt to his throat as the strange cat was suddenly flung. His amber eyes narrowed as he raked fierce claws over the fox's eyes and had the satisfaction of seeing his clanmates swarm the beast to take it down. He looked up at Leafstorm, Wisteriapool and Owlpaw with grateful nods. His breath coming in slow heaves as he watched the corpse for a moment to make sure it was truly dead.

Then he turned to the strange tom. The dark grey tabby was obviously badly injured, the sight of the fox throwing his body fresh in his mind. This hadn't been an attack, the stranger had announced himself too clearly for that, but he had also made himself vulnerable. He leaned down at gently prodded at Anatolios' shoulder, where he spotted the least amount of injury in a small attempt to wake him.
"Owlpaw, Wisteriapool, can I trust you both to get Leopardstar and Mapleleaf or Rainpaw?" He asked, not quite willing to leave the stranger alone in the middle of the forest. His blood would attract more predators. They would have to move him, but he needed to be careful about it. "Leafstorm, help me move him towards camp... he had a message for us."

Owlpaw was a little startled, so many cats joined the battle. And the Fox was death they killed it! Now Owlpaw was curious about the rouge who stood before her now. She wanted to know why the rouge came here. Butt she decided to let the elder warriors do the word. When she heard she had to inform Leopardstar she sprinted away trough the woods.

Anatolios felt the teeth release his leg, a quick sigh of relief an immediate reaction but it was not to last. Anatolios did not scramble out of the way quick enough as it went for him again, his eyes wide with shock as teeth snapped around his scruff and he seemed to be strangled by his own skin. He was wrenched brutally from where he stood until he flew through the air and his side slammed painfully into the dirt where thorns and other debris ripped at his pelt.

For a moment, all was black, but soon his vision returned like a smattering of stars and he saw the Wildcats above him with concern and hesitance in their eyes. But he was unable to move, or he found it difficult to at least, everything yet nothing hurt all at the same time. The scent of blood was thick in the air, had these cats killed the fox that attacked him? He wasn't allowed to entertain the thought, for soon the tom slipped back down into unconsciousness, his head thumping back against the ground.

Leafstorm nodded and turned back to the stranger, heaving the tom onto his back as carefully as he could manage. The tall Thunderclanner winced as he felt the stranger's dead weight, trying to shift him away from his injured shoulder without hurting him too much- his family was watching -before turned back to Marshstorm. "We should hurry," He mewed gruffly, trying not to limp as he walked in the direction of camp. "If we want him to still be alive when we get back."
