Orchidpaw's Warrior Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the willow branch for a clan meeting!" The tom yowled to his clan. After Robinpatch's ceremony, it was for her sister to receive her warrior name. Orchidpaw had trained hard under Silverfang's eyes and she had truly become a strong and loyal she-cat. As a father, the warrior was proud of her and her progress.

Orchidpaw began to make her way to the meeting place. She was doing chores around camp and she was secretly relieved to finally get to sit down. She looked up at her father curiously as she waited.

"Orchidpaw, Silverfang has confirmed that you are ready to undertake your warrior ceremony. If you believe this to be true, step forward now for it to begin." The tom announced, laying his eyes on his daughter. She shared his green eyes and grey fur but she had the same silhouette of his former mate, Cinderpaw. Like every ceremony he made for his kits, he wondered if their mother would be watching over them.

Orchidpaw gasped quietly in surprise. Her? She got up and stepped forward. She glanced to Silverfang with a thankful expression. She thought Orchid was ready! Warrior material. She stood tall and proud as she knew there were cats who believed in her.

"I, Jaystream, deputy of Riverclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in his turn, Orchidpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" Jaystream asked her with a solemn expression while he was standing straight on top of the branch. Riverclan was getting each day stronger with every new warrior joining his clan and he was happy for that. His clan was going to be safe as well as the rest of his beloved family.

Orchidpaw smiled and spoke, "I do." Her voice was clear. She was ready to become a warrior, the next step in her life. Her final goal was to have a family, with kits and a loving mate. Her eyes held determination as she waited.

The warrior nodded satisfied by the she-cat's answer. He raised his tail and smiled, proudly. "Then, by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. From this day forth, you will be known to all as Orchidpool. RiverClan honours your hardworking and helpful attitude." He announced, happy for his daughter. Now, she was going to join her brothers and sister so they could all stay as a family, the family he always wished.

"When the night arrives, you will have to hold a silent vigil while the rest of your clanmates sleep. I'm sure I can count on you, Orchidpool. But until that moment, we celebrate the rise of a new Riverclan warrior." He lashed his tail, ending the ceremony.

However, he wasn't over yet. The large tom jumped off the branch and he made his way to Orchidpool. He licked her forehead lovingly and then looked at her green eyes, with his chest puffed up proudly. "Congratulations, my daughter. You truly deserved this." He purred with a fatherly expression.

"Thanks dad! I'll make Riverclan proud!" she purred and nuzzled him back. She then began to speak to a few clan-mates before her vigil at night.
