Owlkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Leaping up gracefully onto the Highrock, Leopardclaw shook out his golden spotted-tabby pelt and called out to the clan; "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!"  Today was the day that Crowclaw and Spottedpelt's kit, Owlkit, was to begin her warrior training.  He knew that the young she-kit must be grieving the untimely death of her mother, but at least she still had her father, and soon enough a mentor and many friends to help fill that void...that it, the best they possibly could.  The deputy knew from personal experience that the lack or loss of a mother was not something that was easily overcome.

Occ: wait spottedpelt is dead?? since when? how? I WAS AWAY FOR TWO WEEKS AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS?

By hearing the deputy's words Owlkit padded towards the highrock to claim here spot in the crowd. Maybe she became a apprentice today Owlkit longed for that she could not wait to move out of the nursery. A while ago she hated the thought of leaving the nursery now... well why would she want to stay? There was nonane in there for here. her mother had died leaving here with an empty foid inside and she had no liter mates so moving out of the nursery would probably feel like a star clan blessing to her. She sat down next to here father and let her eyes focus on the deputy.

Leopardclaw waited as the clan emerged from their dens, his eye catching the sight of Owlkit sitting next to her father.  Once all of the present cats had settled, the golden cat began to speak.  "We gather here today to watch a young she-kit take her first step into the life of a warrior."  Meeting the brown tabby's amber gaze, he purred.  "Owlkit, step forward."

Owlkit felt like she could fly when she heard here name. She filt herself with confidence and walked forward to the highrock.

Leopardclaw watched with a faint smile as she padded forward out of the crowd, and once she stood on the sandy ground at the base of the stone, he straightened his shoulders and lowered his voice to a serious tone.  "Owlkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to become an apprentice.  From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Owlpaw.  Your mentor will be Eaglefang."

His gaze searching out and finding the young dusty-brown warrior, his striking resemblance to his father Coyotefang once again struck him with the strength of a badger's bite, but he did not allow his emotions to cloud his voice.  "Eaglefang, you are ready to take on your first apprentice. Though you are young, you have received excellent training from my son Newttongue, and have shown yourself to be courageous and deeply devoted to your clan. You will be mentor to young Owlpaw, and I expect you to pass down all you have learned onto her."  With an assuring nod, the deputy leaped down from the Highrock as cats began to call out the new apprentice's name, joining in with a small, but proud, smile.

Owlkit now Owlpaw was filled with pride when the whole clan started to calling out her name yes her new name Owlpaw apprentice of Eaglefang she could not wait for her first day of training and she was probably very bad at hiding it when she walked towards her new mentor to touched his nose. " when will my training start?" she whispered softly so the rest of her clan would not hear.
