Raccoonkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Not long after his brother's ceremony, Raccoonkit was ready to follow in Otterpaw's pawsteps and become an apprentice. Rippedstar was ready to get this ceremony over with and back to mulling over everything happening right now. A deeper part of the leader was excited for the young cat, more than just thrilled that they were beginning to train more warriors. However, you could not see it in his neutral expression as he leaped up onto the tallbranch and let out the familiar call, "Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the tallbranch for a clan meeting!"

Creeping out of the confined space of the nursery, Raccoonkit irritably strolled to sit below Rippedstar. As much as the tom wanted to go back and continue his activities, he had been eager to get his apprentice name, more than ever. Though skinny, the Siamese cat was getting bigger and older by the day. Planting himself in a spot near the back, Raccoonkit waited for Rippedstar to speak.

Once the apprentice appeared, he instantly began by calling him forward, "Today, we gather to welcome another kit into apprenticehood. Raccoonkit, please step forward." Rippedstar paused to allow a moment for the Siamese cat to come to the front before continuing, "From this day forward, until you gain your warrior name, you will be known as Raccoonpaw. He has many moons of experience and wisdom I am sure he will pass onto you... Cloudroar will be your mentor." Rippedstar ended the ceremony and after muttering an obligatory congratulations disappeared into his den.

A huge grin forming on his face, Raccoonpaw could nearly jump in excitement. Finally, apprenticeship! Now, he would finally be allowed to go outside the camp... but not without another cat. He silently groaned. He would have to follow the warrior code for now. Eyeing the crowd, Raccoonpaw found Cloudroar and stalked past the other cats to touch noses with him.
