Acornpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Ashstar leapt onto the sun-warmed Tallrock, noting that newleaf was well on its way. Thank StarClan. WindClan had been recovering well, as evidenced by their recent influx of ceremonies. "All cats old enough to catch their own prey feather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!" she yowled.

Acornpaw obediently padded over to the Tallrock with a blank expression. Unlike her apprentice ceremony, she was completely ignorant that this was supposed to be her warrior ceremony. She rested her haunches down, politely waiting for Ashstar to speak.

Swiftstep was currently seated near Acornpaw, a deep rumbling purr coming from his throat. He knew this was Acornpaw's warrior ceremony and he couldn't be prouder! Finally one of his apprentices was so close to reaching warrior-hood! He shot the she-cat a gleeful look before directing his focus back at Ashstar.

Ashstar looked down at the apprentice, smiling in pride. Another good, loyal warrior for WindClan. "We gather here today to make one of our apprentices a warrior. She has proven herself worthy to climb the ranks of WindClan and receive her warrior name. Acornpaw, please step forwards." Once the she-cat did, she continued with the ceremony. "I, Ashstar, leader of WindClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Acornpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Acornpaw looked at her mentor with curiosity. Why did Swiftstep look so excited? She returned her gaze back to Ashstar, only to find that she was looking at her with soft excitement as well. Her expression widened with surprise after Ashstar's first sentence. This was it. She was becoming a warrior.
The apprentice hardened her gaze on Ashstar, her eyes shining with determination and pride. Despite the eagerness that flowed through her body, Acornpaw calmly dipped her head. "I do."

Ashstar nodded in satisfaction. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Acornpaw, from this moment you will be known as Acornpelt. StarClan honors your determination and dedication, and we welcome you as a full warrior of WindClan." The leader leapt down and rested her muzzle on top of the new warrior's head, finishing the ceremony.

Acornpelt nearly jumped out of her pelt at hearing her new warrior name. Acornpelt. She stood tall, looking around at every WindClan calling her name. She purred with pride, looking at Ashstar. "I won't let you down," Acornpelt murmured with a soft smile.

Swiftstep jumped over to his former apprentice and gave her a friendly nudge with a hearty laugh. "I suppose you'll be staying in the den with me now huh Acornpelt? Can't wait to hunt with you as den-mates!" he purred with a sincere expression. The tom then began to walk back into the warrior's den.
