Catch the fishies! (closed)

The bright morning sun shone down on the camp. Wisps of cloud trailed over the sky, the waters lapped at the camp edge in a sedate and lazy flow. It was a day like this, that Dewshine was happy to be alive. She survived the murderous leaf-bare. Now, newleaf was officially here. The new growths that broke through the snow made her happy and content. Goldeneye would surely be pleased too, she'd have all the herbs she could find. Then there was the kits.

The nursery was full of queens and kits. She smiled in amusement every time a kit barrelled out of the den in the hopes of an adventure. Her tail flicked in amusement. A thought crossed her mind, and she looked over at her fellow warrior with a rare chuckle. A little gleam in her blue eyes.
"I think I better catch some freshkill for the Queens. You want to come Lakewhisper?" She asked cheerfully, then turned as Cinderpaw passed by. Her smile extended to the young apprentice as well. "Cinderpaw, do you feel like a hunt?"

Cinderpaw stopped and turned to Dewshine. "Yeah, might as well catch some prey."

Lakewhisper glanced over at his clanmate with a lazy grin, "Sure, Dewshine!" He responded, his gaze flickering towards the nursery. He hoped one day him and Snowblossom would have kits.. But until then, he'd hunt for the current queens. 

With a slight nod of his head, he turned his attention back to Dewshine and Cinderpaw. "I'm ready when y'all are." He expressed lightly.

"Great! The more prey we can bring back, the better." Dewshine mewed cheerfully as she lead them through the camp entrance. Her thoughts went over the various hunting spots... stepping stones seemed like a good idea. They'd be able to fish peacefully there. She slowed when they reached the river. Small chunks of ice were melting away on the other side of where they had been breaking it for so long.

"How's here?" She asked, her glance falling on Lakewhisper thoughtfully. She turned back to the water and dabbed a paw on the surface. It was cold, but she could bare it. The action was nothing more than a ripple on the flowing river, and she could see a couple fish down there hiding. One of them swam up to the surface curiously, and she hooked it easily out of the water with her claw. She carried it away from the water and placed it on a grassy patch that seemed like a safe spot while they continued hunting.

Cinderpaw frowned. Of course HE didn't get an opinion. He hunted anyway and caught a fish.

Lakewhisper followed beside Dewshine until she paused beside the river and turned to him. "Looks great." He smiled before turning his attention to the water below him. Soon a fish swam dangerously close to the surface of the sparkling river, and he took his chance, darting his paw out quickly and tossing it out of the water onto the ground beside him. Deftly, he held the squirming thing down and finished it off with a quick bite.

Dewshine looked at Lakewhisper with a smile as her paw flashed into the water again. Cinderpaw's silence bothered her though. She looked at him inquisitively, slightly worried.
"So... Cinderpaw, how is your training going?" She asked awkwardly as she focused on a fish that flashed near her paw, then neatly hooked it up and threw it to the ground with the other fish she caught.

Cinderpaw was caught off guard by her question. Unnerved, he heasitated. "Fine." He didn't know what else to reply. HE flipped out yet another fish.

Lakewhisper glanced at the apprentice with concern. "What's the matter Cinderpaw?" He asked softly, so as not to scare away the fish slowly making it's way closer to him. He darted his paw out suddenly and finished off the squirming fish.
