Day One [Closed]

Lionstorm waited calmly just outside of camp on a rise, seated on his haunches with tail neatly wrapped around his paws. The battle scarred golden warrior was filled with thrilling excitement, his pulse hammering as he eagerly awaited the arrival of Cranepaw onto the moors for their first training session.

After being congratulated by his Clanmates, all the newly-named Cranepaw wanted to do was lay in the sun, washing himself and picking through a fat rabbit, but with Lionstorm all ready for training, there was no time for that. Shrugging his shoulders in annoyance, the cream-tabby trotted up and joined his mentor, his eyes squinted with quite the defiant look in his eyes. The mixed feelings towards having his older brother as his mentor still nagged at his brain.

"Alright Cranepaw, the day is far from over, so try to keep up." The warrior spoke, his voice heavy with the authority that only came with the iron weight of responsibility, of which Cranepaw now added to. The golden warrior leapt away and dashed out of the camp entrance, racing across the moors as fast as his wounds would allow him to, eventually coming to a stop on a slight rise, sitting on his haunches and wrapping his tail across his forepaws, patiently waiting for his new apprentice to catch up. Lionstorm allowed a constructed mask of impatience and irritation to fall across his features, it was time for Cranepaw to learn valuable lessons on how his apprenticeship was going to go.

Cranepaw sighed as Lionstorm darted away, reluctantly following him after the warrior was out of sight. Narrowing his eyes, the wind blowing at them mercilessly, he sighted his mentor up ahead, veering sharply to catch up to him. A couple of moments after his older brother had reached the rise, the young apprentice, grabbing with his claws at the sandy ground, joined him, panting lightly and looking victorious, his nose held high. "You're gonna have to be better than that." Cranepaw teased, licking his paw and stroking it across his ear.

Lionstorm frowned at the young apprentice, "We're starting a little differently than normal, first we're going to do some combat training so that I can hopefully knock some humility into that thick skull of yours, mother may have found your arrogance charming, I assure you no one else will." The large warrior rose to his full height to look down at the young apprentice, never before had he so resembled the ancient cats he was named for, "Now attack me."
