A Blank Expression [Semi-Open]

Brightkit sighed as he sat in the back of the nursery, watching his siblings do random stuff to occupy their time. It was SO boring in the medicine cat den and with Tinytip and Splashwillow watching them they couldn't even attempt to do something fun. Unsheathing his little claws, Brightkit rose to stretch and dig his claws into the dirt, looking around at his siblings again to see if any of them were doing something worth doing.

Robinkit was laying on the ground. Trying to roll around for fun. The young kit rolled right into his brother Brightkit. "Hey...Are you bored like me?" he asked as he got up. The tom shook his pelt to rid of any "imperfections" from his pelt.

Warm patches of weak light streamed in from the carefully positioned gaps in the Nursery ceiling, bathing the cozy den in fresh light. Sprawled out on her side, Splashwillow let the occasional drowsy purr escape her mouth as she continued to enjoy the warmth. Although she had enjoyed the constant bustle of her life as a Warrior to a certain degree, the calico always found herself a bit more fond of the duties that she took up while residing within the Nursery.

Though the den was often cramped and hectic with Jaystream's enormous brood, she was more than eager to help out with the pawful of kits. Between Jaystream's involvement and Tinytip's constant support, there was usually a plethora of help on standby. Allowing an eye to slip open at Robinkit's words, Splashwillow's soft purring did not falter as she continued to quietly observe the pair of toms.

The small Queen was relaxing on her own nest as well. The life of a Queen was everything she imagined and she loved being surrounded by so many kits. Jaystream was a close friend to her and she loved all of his kits.

Tinytip purred as she looked at the two tom-kits talk, probably planning a new game. She smiled warmly and watched them from her comfy nest of moss and brambles. Looking after them turned to be funnier than she expected.

Brightkit looked at his brother, suprised and kinda annoyed when Robinkit rolled into him. When his brother asked if he was bored Brightkit couldn't help but sigh and roll his eyes. "Of course I am, there's nothing to do in this stupid den." Brightkit's eyes lit up a bit when he started to ponder why his brother had asked such an obvious question. "Why, did you have something to do in mind?"

"You could sleep, at the moment, the den is more useful than you." Peatkit snapped from where he was curled around a feather, with each breath the feather tilted inwards and then outwards in a rhythmical sway. He wasn't much of a socialiser and it really showed.

Robinkit rolled his eyes and shook his head at Peatkit. Then he turned his attention back to Brightkit. "Well...I don't know....unless..." The tom pounced on his brother and looked down at the pinned tom-kit. "We can wrestle!" he stated with playful growl.

Brightkit blatently ignored Peatkit's comment, and then Robinkit spoke up. He wasn't really suprised when his brother pounced on him but he didn't have a large amount of time to react and was quickly pinned by Robinkit.

Without hesitation Brightkit hefted his weight to the side, rolling Robinkit so he was the one pinned. Chuckling, Brightkit smirked down at Robinkit.

Robinkit huffed and batted one of Brightkit's ears with a paw. His green eyes held a sparkle of mischief. He then sprung up, sending his brother tumbling. "Surprise!" he called as he leaped and landed on top of the other kit. Robinkit was a bit larger so he did knock the breath out of them both.

After Robinkit batted at his ear Brightkit moved his head back, the distraction making him the perfect target to Robinkit's suprise attack. Brightkit tumbled across the grass floor, unseathing his claws to dig into the dirt and stop the roll he was in. He had just clawed himself to a halt when his larger brother leapt on top of him, knocking the air out of him. The sudden attack both startled and aggrivated Brightkit and without thinking he smacked a paw hard across his brother's face. Not realizing his claws were still unsheathed, Brightkit cut into Robinkit's face leaving a large scratch along the bridge of his nose.

The small she-cat who was watching that brotherly fight-game suddenly jumped from her nest when she saw the blood. Worried, she ran to both kits and her amber eyes glanced at the wound in Robinpaw's face. "Oh, no! Come here, Robinkit, let me check you." She mewed worriedly before licking the wound carefully so it would hurt. As she did that, Tinytip glanced at Brightkit by the corner of her eyes. "Brightkit, you must always sheath your claws when you're playing with other kits! Now come here and apologize." She took a few steps back to let the two kits had their own space. After the calico tom's apologize, she would take Robinkit to Goldeneye to check that scratch.

Robinkit yelped with wide eyes as he felt a stinging sensation on his face. He did as Tinytip told and let her help him. When she began to scold Brightkit, Robinkit began to step in. "I-It's okay T-Tinytip. I k-kinda suprised him s-so he really didn't mean to." He then turned to Brightkit with a crooked smile. "It's a-alright. I-It doesn't hurt t-that much...just stings." The tom pressed himself against his brother and offered him another supportive smile. He knew Goldeneye was going to help out so he stood there, occasionally twitching his nose at the feeling of the scar.

In a manner similar to Tinytip, Splashwillow had been contentedly observing the young toms stomp about the den in their haste to find something to preoccupy their little paws. Though, her purr quickly died in her throat as she caught sight of Brightkit's fairly aggressive response to Robinkit's playful scuffle. Leaning forward out of her nest, the calico quickly snatched Brightkit by the scruff and easily pulled him back several tail-lengths as Tinytip observed Robinkit.

"Littermates can be quite irritating at times, especially when they're kicking you about the nursery, but there's never a reason to actually try and use your claws on them." Splashwillow chided softly, gaze simmering with an attentive interest as Robinkit approached once more. Although she had broken up quite a bit of squabbles between her own kits, it was rather surprising to see how quickly Brightkit resorted to using his claws. Carefully keeping her face void of any imposing misgivings, the calico Queen quietly flashed Tinytip a quick glance as Robinkit pressed against Brightkit.

Brightkit realized what had happened but didn’t feel much remorse for it. As both of the queens rushed forward and scolded him, Brightkit scowled. “Why should I apologize?! It’s not like I did it on purpose. It was an accident.” Padding a few steps away from Splashwillow, he went to snap at her in his anger but stopped when Robinkit pressed up against him. Brightkit immediately looked at Robinkit before huffing and looking pointedly at the two kit-sitters. ”Yeah, see? He’s fine.” Brightkit nudged his brother’s shoulder in silent thanks for the support before padding to go lay back down, knowing the queens definitely wouldn’t let him have any fun now.

The tuxedo she-cat watched how Robinkit left her side to join Brightkit but she noticed something strange... The small calico tom-kit seemed to be about to snap at the other queen without hesitation. That was surely not the regular attitude of a kit. Frowning a bit concerned, the small Queen approached the two brothers and looked at them with warm amber eyes. "Even if you didn't do it on purpose, you still hurt him. Don't you feel bad for making your brother feel pain because of an accident you committed?" She mewed motherly, trying to make Brightkit understand why he had to apologize.
