Featherpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Blizzardstar hopped onto the Highrock with a serious expression, finally another apprentice was ready to become a warrior “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!”.

Featherpaw looked up from his grooming. A twig was stuck in his coat from winding through bushes in an attempt to find some prey for the clan. Unfortunately, he hadn't been successful. Most of the mice were tucked up safely in their dens and the birds stayed well away from his patrol. He padded towards where his siblings sat with a small smile to them as he tried not to let Blizzardstar's serious expression worry him too much.

Once enough cats were gathered beneath the Highrock, the white leader finally decided to go on "Featherpaw, please, step forward” She waited until the apprentice did as he was told before talking again “I, Blizzardstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn” Her eyes soon landed on the the tom “Featherpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?”

His green eyes widened as his name was called. With a glance to his sister, he stepped forward before Blizzardstar. A smile more prominent on his muzzle as she spoke the words he had been waiting a long time to hear. He took a moment to calm himself, taking on a more serious expression as he nodded his head seriously to her question.
"I do." He answered steadily. 'I will do anything for my clan.' His eyes rose up to meet hers. Riverclan would have to get through his claws before they could dare touch another of his siblings.

Wildfire sat proudly in the clearing to watch her brother's ceremony. Though, the fact that Flickerpaw would never get the ThunderClan warrior name she deserved stained the happy moment. Her family flourishing was a rebellion in itself against Ivystar, she could use that to keep her going.

Blizzardstar gave a firm approving nod before she continued speaking “Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Featherpaw, from this moment you will be known as Featherheart. StarClan honors your confidence and loyalty, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan” With that, she leaped off the Highrock and rested her muzzle on the newly named warrior’s head to conclude the ceremony.

Featherheart purred at the new name he was given. His eyes shining with pride as she concluded the ceremony and cats cheered his new name. Then he turned to Wildfire with a proud and happy smile, tackling the she-cat with a jovial cry.
