Poplarpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Crowstar called out to his clan. "Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather here for a clan meeting!" More warriors Skyclan.

Poplarpaw silently padded out of the apprentices' den with a dull frown on his face. He wasn't expecting any good news, so he simply placed himself at the back of the crowd so that he could leave right when the group of gathering cats were dismissed.

"Today we are gathered to name another warrior." The leader said, as he stood proudly on the tall branch. "Poplarpaw please come forward." Crowstar said, his yellow eyes resting on the apprentice sitting in the back.

Of course, hearing his name was sudden and shocking, and Poplarpaw ended up blinking a few times to make sure that he was fully awake. However, he was able to recover in less than a heartbeat. He obviously didn't doubt the fact that he was ready to be a warrior. In fact, to the soon-to-be warrior, it seemed as if it was about time that he earned his new name. The fluffy tom didn't bother to quickly smooth down his fur, he simply padded from the back of the crowd to the front of the crowd and positioned himself so that he was the center of attention. It was time.

Rippedsky had watched him train hard for many moons to earn this moment. Poplarpaw was not known for his friendliness, but for as long as he had been training, the black and white tom had been impressed by his dedication and skill. He shot him an encouraging smile as he stepped up to allow for the ceremony to begin. Once more, his voice echoed into the cat-filled clearing, "I, Rippedsky, deputy of Skyclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this cat. He has trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn." Like usual, his blue eyes looked up to the stars as he called to the warrior ancestors to recognize him as a clan warrior.

"Poplarpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" He questioned him, already sure what the response would be. The deputy's features were expressionless as he repeated the normal ceremonial words, but inside his chest was bursting with pride as he pictured another apprentice standing among the clan's warrior ranks. It was finally time for Poplarpaw to take her place alongside them.

Poplarpaw listened silently at Rippedsky continued on to say the ceremonial words that the apprentice had heard so many times before. However, all of those other times had been for other apprentices taking their first step into warriorhood. It seemed to have more of an impact on Poplarpaw now that the words were being addressed directly to him. All the fluffy tom had to say was 'I do', it was just two words, but two words that could alter the life of any cat in a heartbeat. He was genuinely ready for this. What he had spent moons training for was finally here, and all he had to do was say...
"I do." Poplarpaw said with a glow in his eyes.

"Then by the powers of Starclan, I give you your warrior name. Poplarpaw, from this day forward, you will be known as Poplartooth. Starclan honors your dedication and hard work for this clan, and we welcome you as a full warrior of Skyclan." Rippedsky meowed finally, officially giving the tom his full warrior name. It was a relief to see the clan growing as newleaf was on its way. Besides, the black and white deputy was excited to see the newly appointed warrior's progress. As soon as it was done, he leaped down to join the crowd and congratulate the new warrior personally. His voice rang as loud as the rest as chants rose up to the sky.
