Not the Average Training (CLOSED)

Leaf-bare was slowly coming to an end but the snow still covered the most part of Riverclan's territories. However, in the cloudy sky, sometimes the sun appeared to warm their pelts with its light before disappearing again. Jaystream closed his eyes for a second, enjoying the mix between the cold breeze and the warm sunshine before returning his focus to his new apprentice. This wasn't a regular a training lesson. Both deputy and Lightpaw were being accompanied by the medicine cat, Goldeneye, who was there to supervise her health and condition.

Slowly, the small group of RiverClanners approached their destination: the Broken Pools, a safe place for any kit or apprentice to learn how to swim properly even on these cold days. The tom wanted to start the she-cat's training with swimming because he knew that she would have more trouble with that skill because of her lack of coordination. "Okay, Lightpaw, we're going to train here. This place is known as the Broken Pools. Some Queens take their kits to swim here but since Nutfur couldn't leave the camp when you were young, it's better if we start here."

"These pools are deep enough to swim but not enough to drown, so you don't need to worry. Tell me, what have you been doing with Goldeneye to improve your coordination?" He asked politely as he smiled at the golden-furred she-cat who was with them. Jaystream knew that his friend had been trying to treat Lightpaw's mysterious sickness since she was a kit. That's why he thought it was better to bring her with them so she could aid him a bit during the she-cat's training to be a warrior.

Lightpaw followed quietly behind the deputy her legs quivering with each step she took her blue gaze followed the deputy as she took in the small pools and she grew nervous about it despite him say they weren't deep enough for her to drown"...d..do you think I can swim though?"She asked nervous but hoping she could.

Goldeneye padded alongside the group, though she kept her distance. "Yes, I think so, Lightpaw. Swimming is a good way to strengthen your muscles and joints. It's also a great way to improve in many other ways." Goldeneye meowed, resting her tail on the she-cats shoulder before making her way next to Jaystream. Settling down next to him, she curled her tail around her paws and fluffed her fur out against the cold. "Go easy for now, I want to see what her limits are and to see what I can work with." Goldeneye warned, her eyes never leaving Lightpaw's form.

"If Goldeneye says it's okay, then you should trust her, Lightpaw." He purred with a smile to the insecure she-cat before standing and joining her side. "Look, I'll give you a demonstration." The deputy chose a pool that considerable deeper than the others so he could swim and teach Lightpaw how to do it. Ignoring the cold, the large tom entered the water and started moving his paws in synchrony with his breathing, always keeping his head high and his tail at the same level of the surface of the water. He swam for a few moments before he returned back to the shore, shaking his body to dry his wet fur. He fixed his green eyes on the apprentice and pointed with a movement of his tail a pool that would be perfect for her smaller size. "Try to imitate what I did in that place. I'll be checking your progress and then I'll tell what you should change, okay?" The mentor returned to the side of the golden tabby she-cat and watched from there at the younger cat, waiting for her first swimming's attempt.
