Swooppaw's Warrior Ceremony

Blizzardstar smiled as she hoped onto the Highrock, finally another apprentice was ready to become a warrior “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!”.

Swooppaw was pretty sure he knew what this was. Leopardclaw had said he was almost ready to become a warrior when they were going to the Moonstone, though Specklefang still hadn't said a word to him since the Sunningrocks battle. He groomed down his gray fur and walked out into camp, taking a seat under the Highjack and looking up respectfully at Blizzardstar. If this was what he thought it was, he knew his answer already. He was a loyal member of ThunderClan.

Robinpaw slowly left the den, blinking steadily. Her wounds had healed enough for her to go back to her apprentice duties. At Blizzarstar's call, she walked over to sit with Swooppaw, nudging him with her shoulder. If is was what she thought it was, then her brother was about to become a warrior! She smiled at him, her gaze full of pride.

Birchheart dropped her fresh-kill in the pile and heard the call. Seeing Robinpaw and Swooppaw, she had a feeling she knew what was happening. She padded over to Swooppaw and sounded a low rumbling purr. She couldn't help but smile when she looked at him and nuzzled his cheek briefly with her own fluffy cheek. "Save your first patrol for me, alright?"

Once enough cats were gathered beneath the Highrock, the white leader finally decided to go on "Swooppaw, please, step forward” She waited until the apprentice did as he was told before talking again “I, Blizzardstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn” Her gentle eyes soon landed on the the tom “Swooppaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?”

Swooppaw smiled nervously at his two friends as the gave him their support. Was he ready to become a warrior? He was a loyal member of the clan and had completed his training. His hunting was warrior level, and much to his dismay, so were his fighting skills. The only answer he gave Birchheart was a nod, not able to find the words. He still didn't know what exactly this was for certain. That was, until Blizzardstar said his name. Suddenly, his confidence sky-rocketed and he stepped forward, looking the leader in the eye as she said the sacred words. The answer to the question had never been much of a decision in his mind. Loyalty was something rooted deep within him, and now he could use it to its full extent. His voice suddenly gained a strength it hadn't had all day. "I do."

Blizzardstar smiled and nodded approvingly before she continued speaking “Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Swooppaw, from this moment you will be known as Swoopnose. StarClan honors your loyalty and compassion, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan” With that, she leaped off the Highrock and rested her muzzle on the newly named warrior’s head to conclude the ceremony.

This was it. What would his warrior name be? Swoopnose felt a slight disappointment at just being named after his nose for a moment, but his joy and pride at becoming a warrior swallowed that up until he had completely forgotten about it. He was a warrior, and he had a warrior name. As Blizzardstar rested her muzzle on his head, he waited a few moments, excitement gathering in his chest, before trotting back towards his friends, smile as wide as his crooked nose would allow. "I'm a warrior!"

"Swoopnose! Swoopnose!" Robinpaw cheered, her grin wider than ever before. Her brother was a warrior!
