Hunting In The Snow (Closed)

Scorchfang was busy stalking another mouse when Cedarstorm's shriek caused him to raise up his head and stare in the direction of the cry, ears erect and eyes wide. He spotted the she-cat being attacked by a raccoon, and without any thought his paws instinctively led him straight to the scene, fierce protectiveness burning within him. The raccoon seemed about ready to slash its claws into her, so he whipped around and kicked out his hind paws hard into the ground, muddied by melting snow, the wet earth splattering in its face to throw off its aim.

Scorchfang used Mud Slap, dealing 5 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Raccoon is Stunned for one turn.

IC: Crowfur's head whipped around when he heard Cedarstorm call for help. He growled fiercely before running and then leaping at the Raccoon with his outstretched limbs. The warrior managed to topple it over. He wasn't going to let it hurt anyone.

Foxpaw was carrying back her mouse. She stopped, being dead silent. She heard a cat's scream and fighting going on. Cedarstorm! She sprinted towards the sounds. She ran so fast that the wind was smacking her face. Foxpaw arrived and she saw a raccoon. Again? Her clanmates were attacking the creature. She immediately dropped the mouse where it was. "LEAVE CEDARSTORM ALONE!" she yowled at the raccoon. She jumped in front of her clanmates, ran towards the savage animal and knocked it out.

Foxpaw used Run-and-Tackle, dealing 6 damage and costing 10 stamina.

The raccoon growled in pain, surprised by the sudden appearance of different cats. Blinded by the mud, the predator tried to run away but it failed miserably and soon, the big creature was stumbling weakened because of the blood loss and its wounds. Cedarstorm looked at his clanmates with big widened up blue eyes. She didn't expect that the first one to aid her would be Scorchfang. It was true that he changed that hateful attitude toward she-cats...

With a hiss, the brown tabby she-cat finally decided to fight too. Running after Foxpaw, the experienced warrior slashed the neck of the raccoon with her claws. The big animal's life slipped away quickly as it fell in the snow. Cedarstorm looked at her clanmates with a grateful smile. "Thank you so much for helping me." She purred before licking the blood from her paw.

The she-cat turned her gaze toward the dark tabby tom and approached him. "I owe you an apology, Scorchfang. I misjudge you and now I see that you're not the cat you used to be. You're a good fighter and I respect that." The older warrior winked at his brother's mate with a friendly smile. Hopefully, they could be friends from now on. After all, he was her family too.

Firestone heard the sound of a fight when he was burying the prey he just caught. He ran as fast as he could but when he arrived, the battle was already over. He rushed toward Foxpaw, worried but it seemed that she managed to fight without getting hurt. He sighed relieved. "Sorry for being late. I'm glad that you're all okay." The warrior mewed, letting his muscles relaxed. "I think is enough for today. This raccoon will feed our clan well. Foxpaw, go and get the prey you caught and bring mine if you can. I buried it next to yours. Cedarstorm, you will carry the raccoon. Crowfur and Scorchfang, carry what you hunt too and be sure to check if there's another predator near."

Cedarstorm used Front Paw Strike, dealing 13 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Scorchfang couldn't seem to quell the happiness swelling in his chest at Cedarstorm's words. He was very grateful that she now saw him in a new light -- even if she still thought of him as the same rude and disrespectful cat he used to be in spite of everything, he would still do whatever he could to help her and the rest of his Clanmates, whether they be tom or she-cat. He dipped his head respectfully to the experienced warrior. "That means so much to me. Thank you, Cedarstorm."

As the patrol readied to head back to camp, he raced back to where he had buried his mouse. Scooping it out of the snow, he gripped it between his jaws and trotted back to the others.
